MH17 crash: Dutch PM warns Putin on 'last chance' to help with plane disaster

AMSTERDAM: Russian President Vladimir Putin has one last chance to show he is serious about helping rescuers recover the bodies of the victims of the crash of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, the Dutch prime minister said on Saturday.

More than half the passengers aboard the flight, which crashed near a village in eastern Ukraine, were Dutch citizens, and images of recognisably Dutch personal belongings and passports strewn across the crash site have shocked the Dutch public.

"I was shocked at the pictures of utterly disrespectful behavior at this tragic spot. It's revolting," Mark Rutte said,

(Reuters) - A Malaysian airliner was shot down over eastern Ukraine by militants on Thursday, killing all 295 people aboard, a Ukrainian interior ministry official was quoted as saying by Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

The aircraft, which other sources said was a Boeing 777 flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, came down near the city of Donetsk, stronghold of pro-Russian rebels, Anton Gerashchenko said, adding that it was hit by a ground-to-air missile.

There was no further confirmation of the report, although Ukrainian officials said local residents had found wreckage.

Malaysia Airlines said on its Twitter feed it had lost contact with its flight MH-17 from Amsterdam. "The last known position was over Ukrainian airspace," it said.

Gerashchenko was quoted as saying: "A civilian airliner travelling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur has just been shot down by a Buk anti-aircraft system ... 280 passengers and 15 crew have been killed."

Interfax-Ukraine quoted another Ukrainian official as saying the plane disappeared from radar when it was flying at 10,000 metres (33,000 feet), a typical cruising altitude for airliners.

It came down at Torez, near Shakhtersk, some 40 km (25 miles) from the Russia border. The area has been the scene of fighting between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian rebels.

Ukraine has accused Russia of taking an active role in the four-month-old conflict in recent days and accused it earlier on Thursday of shooting down a Ukrainian fighter jet - an accusation that Moscow denied.

MAS plane crashes in Ukraine

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane has reportedly crashed in Ukraine near Russian border.

The plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 280 passengers and 15 crew, reports said.

I dunno who the director is. Owning just rm300k shares is really 'nothing'. Maybe just a salaried director, selling for pocket money or when planning to hand over resignation etc What matters is when a substantial shareholder dispose in huge quantity ( i.e. >5% of market capitalization).

Anyway, I also want to know what happened. Becos Brazil loss? Kikikik!

Buy only if u guys have confidence in a company. Unlike punting, investing shouldn't be taxing or heart stopping. Buy, keep. This stock usually jalan suddenly. You wouldn't be able to catch it 'low' unless you hold.

YFG: The integrated engineering and mechanical company which managed to turnaround for the financial year ended June 30 2012 with a net profit of rm1.25 million from a net loss of rm12.3 million in the previous year, has chartered commendable growth in the subsequent financial year.



After all the company turnaround is due mainly to disposal of non profitable subsidiaries and kitchen sinking exercise involving impairment and write off.



The company posted a higher net profit of rm4.6 million on the back of rm135.8 million revenue in FY2013. For the current financial year, it is also moving on the right track. In the nine months ended March 31 2014 it registered a higher net profit of rm1.6 million from rm901000 mainly due to higher revenue of rm121.8 million and a gain of disposal of a subsidiary.



While it has performed well over the past two years, its profit margins are low.



In Aug 2013, it had bagged a rm256 million from Palikota Sdn Bhd for a high rise development in Sabah, making its first move to diversify from its mainstay E&M business, which accounted for 90% of its revenue.



It had subsequently secured a rm42.4 million contract to undertake a mixed commercial development cum bus terminal in KK.



It is also diversifying into property development.



Near future expansion plans include growing its recurring income business and businesses related to renewable to renewable energy and hospitality. It aims to grow its order book for its renewable energy business.



Currently (July 2014), it has an order book in excess of rm550 million.



Its cash and cash balances stood at rm2 million as at March 31 2014 and operation cash deficit of rm17.6 million for the nine months just ended.



It has total borrowings of rm29.7 million as at March 31 2014 while its accumulated losses stood at rm22.6 million.



General Technology Sdn Bhd in which YFG director Lim Choong Yik is related to, surfaced as YFG’s substantial shareholder with a 9.60% stake on Sept 2013. Choong Yik has a direct stake of 1.64% stake and indirect stake of 0.49% in YFG.



Sine the new shareholders emerged in the company, it has ceased all overseas to focus on the domestic market.



The company is bidding for some rm800 million worth of bids comprises E&M projects.



In May 2014, it was awarded a rm32 million MRT contract for the Sungai Buloh depot. It has also a rm110 million engineering procurement and construction job in hand to build a 13MW biomass renewable energy plant in Bera, Paahng.
