balvin71, yes, finance lease is a recurring revenue.. but the portion of this power gen is not significant to their overall revenue. and we have to really look at the overall revenue, where their core business is...
and that has dropped significantly...

to me, the fundamentals are getting worse so i would skip or for those who are holding, i would advise to sell to lock in profit now...

haha... pls read the quarterly report in more detail... our friend Patrick13 has already pointed out...

look, revenue has dropped significantly compared to preceding year's quarter and last immediate quarter... and the increase in profit is a trap : forex gain, land disposal and finance lease...

core business has actually worsened under the new young CEO...

no hope in this share to be frank

thanks for your sharing KC. You have a point here...
averaging down (with certain level of confidence) can on one hand bring more profit when the share price goes up; but on the other hand, poses higher risk of losing more money if our assumptions/analysis went wrong..

I think it all just depends on what is the level of risk that we can accept...

it may not be fair to value Airasia by PE multiple due to its high debts. A more proper way is to value its EV/EBIT multiple.

Assuming a EV/EBIT = 8 , EV will be RM18,042,888,000 and Market capitalization will be RM9,266,717,000. This translate into a fair price of RM3.3298 for Airasia...

Note that I am only using a fairly conservative EV/EBIT = 8, imagine what would the fair price if we revise it to 9 or 10.

think for yourself if Airasia is a value buy or not...

remember, fundamental value investing is still a key in successful investment.

sxckperformer... see... HL investment bank is also a cloned ID of mine ya...

coz it says Evergreen will be paying out dividend (when new dividend policy is in place - approved during AGM)...

and the analyst also mentioned of strong FCF of Evergreen, instead of your half-fact (by just stupidly looking at debt alone to conclude that Evergreen is not a good company)...

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 16): Hong Leong IB Research said Evergreen Fibreboard Bhd was building its base for better 4Q2016 results and that Evergreen is attractively traded at 7.3x FY17 P/E (about 14% below 10-year P/E of 8.5x and 12% discount to its 10-year P/B of 0.83x), supported by FY16–18 core earnings CAGR of 22%, decent dividend yield of 3.6–4.1% and strong FCF of 12.6 sen and 20.4 sen for FY17–18, respectively.

KC, when you said most often you don't average down your paper-loss shares...
then mind to share what would you do?

1) Sell at a loss? (i think this is unlikely as you bought a share based on cheap valuation of EV/ebit and DCF so if the share price drops more, it should be more attractive)

2) do nothing. wait for the share price to go up to your targeted intrinsic value

just a small doubt of mine : if you are quite confident (yes, nothing is 100% for sure) that the fundamentals of the company is still great, why don't you average down your entry price?
