As in, WHAT is the point in remaining a member of a commodity trading organisation, if the leadership of that organisation itself is fighting NOT to boost or at least maintain the price of the commodity, but instead fighting to push that price downward ...

Ah Leo, it HAS happened before, that someone deliberately planned to do something to benefit themselves & also damage the interests of others competing against them, in a way that remains within their capability to control ... And often also what they planned eventually grew into something worse & bigger than their said capability to control ...

This is exactly what is happening now ... You think Saudi is still in control now? ... Nope, the oil price downslide has now slipped & slid beyond the Saudi/OPEC capability to control ...

At first Saudi strategy was to make price drop to 50 - 60 range & leave it at that level for a few years, ostensibly to kill off small time, high cost producers, including shale players ... But now it has slipped to below 30, and many of those small time, high cost producers are still alive, and Saudi itself is injured - maybe irreversibly & beyond repair - from their heavily deficit budget ...

Add to that, many OPEC members like Venezuela, Libya, even Iran, are angry & resentful toward Saudi for making life bad & miserable for their respective rakyat ...

I don't fancy reading a fairy tale, FamJenny ... It's okay for a bit of fun, I can even write some myself ... But to take seriously & digest is a completely different kettle of fish altogether ...

I don't know why dudes keep saying, 'If they win the court case, then ..., then ..., then ..., blah blah bah ...'

BabyDragon is the baby of a dragon.
