It take one year to complete building a factory, another two to three years to set up a precast concrete equipment systems; by that time all projects has already been taken up by other much bigger contractors.

BURSA has the rights to query. 17 years ago KLSE listed company Megan Media wrote in annual report they have the latest blue-ray production line (17 years ago was advance technology). After the financial scandal exploded, auditor reported the blue-ray production line doesn't exist at all.

Already bought the new land in cash to relocate the existing factory. Need more money to build the new factory, relocation of old machinery could also impact the production output, new machinery also needs money.

If want to start new AI or Robotic technology where got money to do? For sure issue new rights issue lah.

Concrete precast is low technology industry. Easy to duplicate everywhere. Industry leader like Gamuda already has Industrialised Building System (IBS) with robotic systems, automation and AI. A lot more for SICB to catch up.

谁能想到，在冠病大流行之后的三年多时间里，顶级手套（TOPGLOV）的市值从2020年740.3亿令吉的峰值暴跌近90％。

2020年10月13日，这家全球最大的手套制造商短暂成为大马交易所继马来亚银行之后的第二大上市公司。

然而，由于全球大规模的疫苗接种活动，加上冠病病例的迅速下降，这种快速上升的趋势是短暂的，最终对手套的需求造成了沉重打击，直到该行业陷入几乎瘫痪的地步。我们可以从顶级手套今天74亿令吉的市值看出这一点。

毫无疑问，顶级手套并不是唯一陷入这种财务困境的公司，本地交易所的四大手套制造商——贺特佳（HARTA）、高产柅品工业（KOSSAN）和速柏玛（SUPERMX）也面临着类似的下滑模式。

因此，在预计市场将缓慢反弹以及依然面对激烈的竞争和价格战（尤其是来自中国手套制造商）的情况下，顶级手套的提名和薪酬委员会于2023年6月建议，截至2023年8月31日止财政年度，董事部接受董事费额外削减15%。

回顾一下，由于大流行后充满挑战的商业环境，董事部在2022年承诺将董事费用减少 10%。

以身作则

随后，董事部一致同意减薪，股东在2024年1月10日的年度股东大会上正式批准了该提议。同时，2023财年董事部委员会的费用保持不变。

本着以身作则的领导精神，顶级手套执行主席丹斯里林伟才博士继续接受减薪30%，该减薪于2022年8月1日生效，以应对该公司在此期间财务表现的暴跌。

根据记录，林氏的薪酬总额为272万令吉，其中包括227万令吉的薪水加上其他附加福利，而董事总经理林昌源的薪酬为99万7000令吉（薪水为74万7000令吉加上附加福利）。.

顶级手套2023年企业监管报告指出：“然而，由于集团业绩持续不理想，林伟才今年（2023年）自愿进一步减薪20%。”

渡过难关

“高级管理层也加入了他的行列，他们的薪水也削减了10%到20%，以帮助顶级手套渡过难关。”

值得注意的是，顶级手套在2023年录得亏损，净亏损高达9亿2664万令吉，而去年同期的净利润为2亿2256万令吉。与此同时，其2023年的收入从一年前的55.7亿令吉骤降近60%至22.6亿令吉。

好消息是，尽管2024年截至2023年11月30日的第一季度仍处于亏损状态，顶级手套的净亏损从之前的1.6824亿令吉，收窄至5771万令吉，尽管其收入仍比去年同期低22％。今年首季为4.9346亿令吉（2023 年第一季度：6.3253 亿令吉）。

展望未来，由于使用率提高，顶级手套预计将在2025年实现盈利。

象征性但重要

当公司的财务业绩在危机期间受到严重打击时，董事、总执行长和高级管理人员自愿减薪的情况并不罕见。

例如，此前有新闻报道指出，在2020年冠病大流行爆发时，大马交易所前30名上市公司（按市值计算）中约一半（16家）的总执行长获得的薪酬较低。

在接受降薪的16位CEO中，有4位降薪超过25%，8位降薪超过10%，2位降薪低于10%，只有2位降薪低于5%。减薪幅度在0.21%至45.48%之间。

一般情况下，支付给老板的大笔奖金是根据上一年的财务业绩而定的； 影响只会反映在本财政年度的财务报表中。

在冠病大流行的情况下，如果总执行长获得与公司2019年业绩挂钩的大量奖金，可能会对其声誉产生不利影响。

这种情况不仅无法表现出领导层的同情心和同理心，而且还存在造成相当大名誉损害的风险，特别是在工人们在这个充满挑战的时期努力应对收入损失的情况下。

另一方面，高管减薪更多地是向公众和员工发出的信号，而不是防止裁退工人的节省成本举措。

这一姿态表明这些公司正在考虑利益相关者的看法和观点。

总而言之，高管薪酬的削减虽然在很大程度上是一种象征性态度，但反映了高管的责任感，并强化了领导者愿意为其绩效承担责任的理念。

最终，它体现了对道德领导、负责任的管理以及公司及其利益相关者长期利益的承诺。
