It has to be done or else, Malaysia will be in great danger socially and economically in the next year or so. Focus is given to hand out cash to individuals and family in the B40 & M40 category, as well as one of payments to civil servant and pensioners. Also, focus is given to help out SME companies. All this will ensure we will be able to sustain the country's economically and socially as a result of the covid 19 pandemic.

obviously, it is a foregone conclusion. during these times of uncertainty, the only certainty is uncertainty. those who bought last friday were hoping price will move upwards. unfortunately, this morning is down; dow futures are down. tonite DJIA will be negative again, affecting tomoro's opening of Bursa, n the 'cycle' continues until the pandemic is gone.

the pressure will definitely be on those who bought using non-spare cash. if margin financing is involved, it gets worst as margin calls keep coming if price continues going down. those who sailang using loan also will be greatly affected. but then, at the end of the day, look at a brighter side, this depressed scenario of covid 19 pandemic ain't going to last forever, i'd say within 6 months it will recover. so pls keep our heads cool, things will go back to its normalcy. in the mean time, just enjoy our freedom to breath fresh air even though we lost money in the stock market. do not attack OTB, DK66 etc. they suffer as well with JAKS' price decrease, just like everyone of us. As for me, i bought using my spare cash, i can sleep well at night even though market is super bearish

Oil and gas (O&G) services provider Uzma Bhd targets to expand its three core upstream services beyond Malaysian shores by next year, focusing on Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei.
Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed said the group will focus on subsurface solutions, integrated wells solutions (IWS) and production solutions (PS) for the expansion plan.
The group is also actively bidding for more jobs under two other services business - namely new energy, and decommissioning and efficient late-life asset.
"We have partnered with a renewable energy (RE) partner to bid for the third cycle of the large-scale solar scheme (LSS3) in Malaysia," he said, adding that the LSS3 venture by the group is aimed to earn sustained recurring income for the next 20 years.
The company is also looking at bidding for the government’s large scale solar fourth cycle project (LSS4) and supply of net energy metering (NEM) equipment.
Kamarul said the NEM is an untapped market and the company will aggressively pursue in bidding for this business segment.
Uzma currently has RM1.4 billion balance order book supported by several umbrella projects in hand that has stable profit margins above 30 per cent at a gross level.
"We remain confident and focused on the execution of our strategic plans and steer our company on a sustainable growth trajectory within the medium to long-term future," Kamarul said.

Integrated offshore well solutions outfit Uzma Bhd is expecting to break its own record full-year top line of RM516 million in this financial year ending June 30, 2020 (FY20).
"I think 2020 will be one of our best years," said Uzma managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed.
"We believe we will have the highest ever revenue in our 20 years of existence," he told reporters after the group's annual general meeting here.
To date, Uzma's highest full-year revenue was RM516.25 million, which it obtained in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015 (FY15) when oil prices just crashed to below US$40/bbl from over US$100/bbl the year before.
Interestingly, that year also saw Uzma record a net profit of RM5.36 million — its lowest net profit since FY11 — due to forex losses and higher operating expenses.
Uzma's best year in terms of bottom line was FY16, when it made a net profit of RM42.59 million on revenue of RM475.47 million.
On another matter, Kamarul pointed out that Uzma is currently preparing its dividend guidelines. "We are seriously looking at it… It is in our interest to start looking into paying dividends pretty soon," he added.
Uzma last paid interim dividend of 3.78 sen per share to its shareholders for its FY14 results.
At noon market break, Uzma shares fell 1 sen or 1.16% to 85.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM273.62 million.

Of the 20 largest O&G companies tracked by The Edge Financial Daily, 75% have shown stronger bottom line in their latest financial quarter and for the cumulative quarters to-date.
Rated companies that have translated recovery into earnings includes rig operator Velesto Energy Bhd and Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, which are involved in the topside major maintenance (TMM) and hook-up and commissioning (HUC) services, as well as oilfield services outfit Uzma Bhd and Deleum Bhd.
On average, companies across different subsegments have improved their earnings, save for E&P companies that are directly affected by oil prices.
Looking at the lucrative order book secured by leaders in the field, this year’s results could be the start of better times for the next two years.
Pushing aside over geared companies, investors may consider laggards in the sector. Offshore support vessel (OSV) operators are in demand with new drilling activities. The long-delayed maintenance of existing offshore facilities provides more opportunities for TMM, HUC and other oilfield services firms — as the Petronas Activity Outlook has projected.
Carimin, for example, managed to declare dividends in the last financial year, and has put in its bid for integrated HUC contracts under Petronas recently.
Another example is Uzma, which is a market leader with a good track record in the booming segment of well plugging and abandonment — whose potential contract wins have not been factored into its share price.

An article from finance Twitter ..Dr Maszlee, famously known as the “Shoe Minister”, should be given a medal for his excellent job in shooting his own foot without fail. The “accidental” education minister gained fame after his proposal on July 20 last year to switch students’ white shoes to black. It’s a great mystery how Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad headhunted this exquisite talent from his PPBM party.
Less than a year after his black shoe fiasco, the education minister has done it again. In his rush to defend the discriminatory matriculation programme’s special preference for Bumiputera (son of the soil) students, he had argued that if the critics did not want the matriculation quota system, then job opportunities should not be denied to Bumiputera because they do not speak Chinese.
Maszlee’s argument was not even a justification, but sounded like a threat. In fact, it was an extortion or blackmail – if the people wanted to get rid of the discrimination in the matriculation system, then Bumiputera should be given jobs in the private sector, even if most of those half-baked graduates could not speak proper English, let alone proficiency in Mandarin.

Maszlee lacks the necessary skills as an education minister. He seems better as a lecturer, his previous job that he hold for more than a decade. But I don't think tun M will change him with another person in the near future, for political reason. But the education sector in the country will suffer n maszlee obviously can't stop the rot. All this current mess will be visibly felt in the next 20 years. Our graduates may end up applying for any job that don't even require their qualification just to earn money to put food on the table for the family. It's happening in Indonesia n Pakistan for instance n it may even happen here if the rot is not stopped
