even if brent price fall to 40 USD, Hibiscus can still be profitable. Cost of production in North sea is 15 USD and cost of production in Sabah is about 13 USD. so with 3500 bbl/day from north sea and 9000 bbl/day from Sabah = 12500 barrels a day with average profite of 40 - 14 = 26 usd/bbl this is equal to a gross profite before tax of about 1.4 milion ringgit a day!!. Hibiscus need about 0.5 milion ringgit a day to pay all production cost for north sea and Sabah.. I guess financing these cost sould not be too difficult for Hibscus.

Malaysia boosts offshore development


KUALA LUMPUR, April 18, 2017 – Malaysia Marine and Heavy Equipment will take on the construction of Petronas Carigali’s central processing platform for the Bokor field’s re-development operation, the company announced in a filing on Monday.


The USD 227-million (MYR 1-billion) building contract for phase three of the Bokor project will begin in Q3 2018 and is set to be completed in Q2 2020. The platform will then be installed on the field in Q2 2020 in water depths of 70 metres. The Bokor field is located in the Baram Delta, offshore Sarawak.

This operation is part of an enhanced oil recovery centre campaign over the Baram Delta and North Sabah PSCs.

Additional offshore activity in Malaysia is due to pick up on the North Malay Basin through the planned demobilisation of Perisai Petroleum and Emas Offshore’s FPSO vessel, Perisai Kamelia.

Emas Offshore Construction has agreed to provide project management, engineering and project support in a contract worth USD 545,000. The vessel will be replaced by a full-field FSO vessel.

Under the original contract, the Perisai Kamelia was to continue working until May 31, 2017, and had a chance for an additional 12-month extension.

look like there is a silent war between OPEC and Shale producer to secure market gain. if we assume that the brent oil price will remain hovering between 48 and 50 usd. this will be enough to stop more new rigs in the US and drain the stock piles faster, once this target achieve we wil see the oil price going up very fast toward 60 and perhaps 70 usd. its just a matter of weeks i guess we will see this comming, in the mean time 48 or 50 US dollars is still a good price for Hibisucs.. by January 2018, hibiscus will be ready to take over and additional of 9000 barrels a day and perhaps the sale price will be arround 80 USD...

w6999. thanks for sharing, this is in line with what i have posted before. the 10 milion ringgit tax is a one time off, this means that next quarter will show higher (even double) net profite as long as Hibiscus produce an average of 3500 barrels a day at 49 USD average sale per barrel, and 15 USD average cost of production per barrel, i think the net profite for the upcomming qr (April to June 2017) will be arround 13 milion ringgit...

brave, is all what you need to be. Some people are easy scared and prefer to loos and dump their stock very cheap instead of holding for better price, which will come eventually. the brent oil price now going up.. you sell now you loose, this is my opinion..

oil price downtrend is a temporary, just one or two days, it was needed to clear off 100 milion barrels in one stock, thsi means that next week inventory rport will show a huge stock pile reduction,, I think from now till next week we shall see the oil price going up as well as Hibiscus.

better hold, do not sell cheap, you have been patient enough so do not waist it for nothing. as this is a temporary, low oil price will kill all Shale producer in US and eventially brent oil price will rebound, move up again..Hibiscus share is well supported at 0.455. as Franklim1989, trade at your own risk..

Saudi's Falih Says More Oil Output Cuts Possible, Will Assess in July

Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said further oil output cuts could be needed in the future but that OPEC and other leading producers would assess the market situation in July, Russia's TASS news agency reported on Saturday.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other nations led by Russia agreed last week to extend a deal to limit global oil output for a further nine months, until March 2018.

A committee set up to monitor the cuts is set to meet in Russia in July. Falih, who has been on a visit to Russia this week, said it would then be able to judge if the cuts had been effective in supporting oil prices which have halved in the last three years on the back of a global oversupply glut.

"We have to see the market and I think by the end of June, in July we will see that the action we have taken has a big impact," TASS quoted him as saying. "If for some reason we need to do more, we will consider doing more including ... bigger cuts."

"Nothing is off the table but today nothing is on the table either. We made a deal," he added.

Russia and Saudi Arabia have recently reached a detente in a long-running rivalry that has seen the world's two biggest oil exporters spearhead the global pact to cut output.

Speaking alongside his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak in Moscow last week, Falih said he saw their new cooperation lasting after the current output agreement expires.
