Look at the index Charts in Malaysia and around. Thailand and indonesia were hit much more than Malaysia. It Looks like that the worst is over. Not in BullBear eyes but it seems so. The markets in the US and here in europe expect the tappering and that is good for the economy in the midterm.
You cant expect that indizes all around the world just have oneway....a correction like during the last weeks is normal. For an whole area like the emerging markets and so on for nearly every Company in it.
Air Asia is still very strong. So if you dont bought your stocks on credit...just wait a few months and you will smile again.

cheeseburger Mmtalents, i wont do mba twice.
The point i want to correct here is headging does not shield you from commodity risk.
An low cost LCC does not consume any less fuel compare to FCC.
Yes..but a low cost carrier have a much less cost base than a fcc. AAX for example have the lowest cost per unit in the world. So a much higher oil Price will effect FCC much more than the LCC.
2013-08-29 01:50 | Report Abuse
@Cheeseburger
The 2 A340-300 are not a good plane for low cost. AAX have Long Leasing contracts for them..ich think till 2015. Till 2015 they do better to "sublease" them...that brings Money. Otherwise you can use them as a backup.
But if you dont know something like that you dont have to invest in an Airline stock :-)

BEcause of BullBears fear of Thailand..:
In Thailand, demand for tourism and travel is seasonally weaker in the third quarter of the year. However, TAA continues to benefit from increasing visitor numbers arriving from China, and expects to achieve third quarter loads in excess of the prior year. Forward loads in Thailand are consistent with the prior year while average fares are higher than the prior year. TAA will continue to focus on domestic, southern China and Indo-China routes in the remaining quarters of 2013, where forward bookings remain strong.

Karin Phua 400,000 is about 13,333 pax a day. Can be done if all flights full and operating at max sectors.
25/08/2013 18:47
Hmmm...lets give them 22 flights a day with the 739=4000 Pax, 28 flights with the ATR = 2000 Pax...so Maximum could be around 6000 Passengers with a 100% load Karin.....but you can of course still believe in the Malindo Stories :-P.
And after that...how much Money will they burn?

AA have the best margin from all Airlines worldwide...pay a good dividend. The Business model works. Stockmarkets are going up and down....thats normal. Maybe...look at the stock for example from Thai Airways and compare that with ThaiAirAsia....AA Thai is very strong!
