Last time down was due to USA for sub-prime loan issues

1. This time down is also due to USA as they are going to become the largest producers of shale oil and will become non-dependent of crude oil - so OPEC will become insignificant soon

2. The current production price off shale is high - they are working at optimizing this and as they continue to do this - the world is already factoring the impeding damage on the futures of oil and economy

3. The immediate reaction is the slump in Crude Oil - and this will be followed by the economy

4. Middle East will become non critical once USA become self sufficient

5. Remember golden rule - Willing buyer - willing seller . When the BIG buyer no longer interested what happens?

6. The only way to negate this spiraling effect will be to find more buyers for your oil so every country that produce crude oil will compete to sell. Price of crude oil will come under tremendous price adjustment. You have already see the steep drom from USD 100 / barrel to USD 80 plus now..

7. Granted it has happened in the past, but the difference THEN and NOW is : then there was no option for crude oil - NOW you have options and as one of the biggest consumer and the prime driver for the world economy no longer is reliant on crude oil - WHAT happens?
