HY has a undervalued NTA and very profitable.
Prospect looks very promising from reports and studies of refineries.
Just wait for Q1, everything should be fine.

The reasons I am not worry are it doesn't affect my cash flow and all those mentioned above.

1. Normalised Earnings

2017 was an exceptionally profitable year for Hengyuan. The management has explained the reasons for this. Do you expect the results of 2017 to be repeated in subsequent years? Probably not. In fact, 2018, the earnings will definitely be a lot less.

Therefore, which normalised earnings can you use to do your valuation of Hengyuan conservatively. Perhaps, the prudent step is to take the earnings of 2015 and 2016 as the closest guide.

We can conservatively assume that the normalised annualised earnings for Hengyuan is 340 million.


2. Capex

Shell was not investing into its refinery from 2014, 2015 and 2016. Note the marked reduction in capex for those years.

We can conservatively assume that the yearly capex fro Hengyuan for maintainance and growth is above 200 million RM per year.


3. FCF

2015, 2016 and 2017 are profitable years for Hengyuan. It has generated a lot of FCF and this has resulted in its 5 Yr Avg FCF to be positive at 88.07 million. In 2018, the management has guided that its capex will be 800 m RM. (I think this may be on the lower side of the actual estimate.)



At 7.75 per share today, Hengyuan's market cap is 2.325 billion RM.

It has significant borrowings too.

3iii can talk theory only. When talk theory, no need to think about how to apply. Being the type who goes around finding fault with others, whenever someone comes up with another perspective, he can use a different theory to suit his argument. It is much harder to twist and turn with cold hard numbers. By that, he can always be the winner.
