KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 — The Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has announced a probe into Tan Sri Tony Fernandes’ claim that the agency had asked him to cancel additional flights to ferry voters home.

In a brief statement today, Mavcom said it takes the allegation seriously.

“We have immediately commenced an investigation into these claims

“We will keep the public informed,” it said.


AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes had earlier today apologised for succumbing to political pressure in his support for Barisan Nasional.
