Cepat is plantation company with ALL its business activities in Sabah. Only bodoh Directors would spend Cepat money to invest in Properties in Kuala Lumpur. Spent so much money RM40M+ to buy properties and leave them vacant for so many years without collecting any rental income. May as well sell these properties and pay dividend and concentrate on plantation biz. Better still use the money to reduce borrowings and replanting

What joyd12345 said is true. Price of steel may fall like london bridge in 2024. Not just steel, CPO, Oil, Gold, Houses, Flight tickets, etc. However, having said that, in 2024, it can also be going up. Nobody can actually predict the future. That's why its called investing. If u believe will go down, then don't invest. If u believe will go up, then invest. What is almost definite is most things will go up in the long run. Of course most will recognise that as inflation

My take as a minor minor minor investor, if the major shareholders and bankers are willing to throw in RM millions to part finance the balance RM652M for the glove project, why should I fear putting in a few RM into Johan

Johan disposal of Diners will not get a single sen cash in flow. In fact after disposal, Johan would become a micro biz, smaller than the mamak stall(biz wise) near my place. However the disposal does stop Johan from bleeding any further. However, if all goes well, its future glove biz should be positive contributor. The question would be can they implement the production line according to schedule. If yes, and profit margin for gloves is still there, then great. If not, then everyone screwed. Looking at some of the gloves counter, they were already making profits pre pandemic, so even if ASP of gloves falls to pre pandemic levels, Johan would still be profitable.

If DL takes Malton private around the current price, how would this benefit minority? On the other hand, if not taken private, there is hope that the profit from The Park & The Park 2 will eventually be reflected in the accounts and move the share price up. Of course with a GDV of > RM1B for the mall which is slated for launch by end 2020, this should raise the market cap of Malton to the RM Billion cap club.

Dear SsLee,
I did not expect TT to revise his MGO because I don't think he can revise the price downwards. Even an idiot knows that 0.66 is too low. Of course TT is aware that 0.66 is low and yet, with his criminal mind n 1000 years of experience in the stock market, made that offer. I can only assume he did that intentionally to ensure that the MGO fails. Meantime he can continue picking the shares at ceiling price of 0.66. I think he did not expect the market to be so bad else he would have waited to pick more shares at much below 0.66. It must have came as a pleasant surprise to him that the market is so bad. Thus he can continue to pick TA shares at dirt cheap price.
Calvintaneng can talk to him till the cow comes home about the joy and god blessing. However, TT will only be interested in the joy of sharing your wealth with him and not vice versa. KAkakakaka

Recently the Edge reported Canadian Pension Fund in negotiation to take up 49% of BJ Pavilion valued at RM200M to RM300M. Therefore at 100% BJ mall is approx RM400M to RM600M. Let's say it is RM600M. 18% goes to Ho Hup, thus left with RM492M. Less construction and development cost......not much profit from the Mall. Potential cash payout of RM3 per share seems quite optimistic

I doubt he will increase his offer price. He will only do things that protect and/or enhance his wealth(refer Omega and fraud case). TT has been dealing in the stock market for hundreds of years. You think he don't know that 0.31( or 0.66 for TAE) is too low meh? If he increase the offer price, that would deplete his wealth. If he somehow (by hook or by crook) manage to obtain 90% control of TAE and directly + indirectly 90% of TAGB, then we are all stuck at 0.31..LOL. Of course most(including me) are sceptical that he will achieve 90%. We don't know how many % are already owned by his undisclosed Nominees.

singh1..yes possible but my simple mind doubt that's the main reason. Little Bay's reported profit should be approx RM218.573M(Rate at 3.06 as per Note 1 in P&L). Profit at AUD71.429M = RM218.M.
As for paper loss. Look at the last 8 financial year(based on the last qtr of each FY) The investment segment report loss every FY ranging from RM7M to RM61M except FY Jan 2011 with a profit of RM10M. Roughly total loss over these FYs RM230M. Paper loss would normally be a short term thing i.e. timing of purchase/disposal and reporting dates. Over time, it reverses or realised as a loss or gain. If you look at the QR reports, every qtr few hundred millions worth of sale & purchase of investments. Still paper loss?? or realised loss??
Do bear in mind that most of these investments are overseas using overseas borrowings. I am no financial expert but if I borrow USD1000(liability) to acquire(asset) USD1000 investments. Then any exchange gain/loss should offset each other.
Whatever, after so many years of real/paper loss, doesn't the management get fed up? I used to gamble on football but after losing so many times I also get fed up. Of course the difference is I use my money to gamble whereas management uses Co money. LOL

@@Singh1..I was naive to think profit will be about 6 sen for the quarter, my apologies. The taxman took a big chunk of the profits. The result is nevertheless very good. Three cheers to the management of TAGB.
On another front, there seems to be an error in reporting the NTA. It is actually showing the quarterly profit and not the NTA !!!
You were not wrong to expect eps of 6 sen given that the Aussie disposal effect alone is EPS 4 sen. Even though the results of hotel were as expected, the gambling activities wiped off whatever profits made there. In that respect I would think that the overall result is bad and management deserves to be slapped. The only positive I can think of is that borrowings went down by >RM500M. My 2 sen worth.

Based on the circular, disposal of the Aussie project, TAGB is supposed to make a profit after tax of AUD71.43 (RM231.49M). QR 3/18 has a net profit of RM230.1, that means taking out the Aussie disposal, TAGB make a loss. What a bunch of idiots managing a Co with such great assets.
BTW none of the disposal proceeds were allocated for dividend. Meaning if Aussie profit taken out, then next year no dividend. Yet there are minority who were dreaming of bonus dividend. LOL

Disappointing results. The profits after tax of disposal of project in Australia and the compulsory acquisition were expected.
