Dunno much about hudud. The powers to be should publish a comprehensive article on hudud. Based on my limited knowledge, don't understand how hudud can have negative impact on commercial activities other than a possibility of reducing commercial crimes and corruption. So why invest overseas?

THe reason for such late disclosure would probably be because terrible management together with the need to do yoga exercise on the figures!!!LOL. They must have done a lot of bending and twisting on the figures to turn red into green else the readers might choke if they see red. Small green is better than red on the bottom line. So much juggling that the figures become difficult to comprehend. Note A9, on Inv & Other Holdings Segment has revenue RM11,235K, O/Income 195. Total income =RM11,430. Net results = RM2,060K. Therefore, expenses = 11,430-2060= 9,370. However, Note B1 list of expenses for investments related, FV loss alone is RM22,339K. Mathematically also doesn't add up!! Also, fair value gain on derivatives of RM1,316K is shown as a loss. I think they are also confused with what is gain and what is loss!!! As HowAh said "PATHETIC...", I add "On the results and MANAGEMENT".

Ch Tan. You are talking buying properties. In the last 10 years++, Mulpha had raised >RM1B in rights. Assuming before such rights, Mulpha had RM0.00 value, the Mulpha today should be worth at least RM1B if they did nothing and place the monies in bank current account. However, today it is only worth RM872.8M. After rights and few months down the road, the only direction is down, down down

Yippy, another Air Asia??? LOL. Yes we all live in hope, but for MBSB to be AA, we need miracle, hope alone not enough! AA is run by TF who transform a RM1.00 company to RM6,623,478,310.40 worth. MBSB on the other hand is run by a bunch of monkeys who has no interest in the future growth of the company. They may not even know how to run a biz. Just like monkeys, they can talk and make a lot of noise, but when come to actual work, they tak tahu apa nak buat. Kalau tau pun, malas nak buat. Nak pergi kutip hutang pun malas. Senang je, write off as bad debt, tak yah kutip jadi tak payah kerja.

Chang24, talk is cheap. Alicia talks a lot. She HAD been talking a lot...land in BB to develop..REITs, ...blah,blah..and till today she is still talking. As for the other one in the article, someone charged with abetting fraud crime, you believe??? More importantly, even if these projects are sucessful, would they reward the shareholders or would they throw away the profits into some share/equity investments.

I am somewhat surprised that it is still at such high price. Ho Hup is in construction & prop development. For construction, it has a few small projects not worth mentioning. I doubt it is capable of gaining any major infra/construction project. So forget about their construction. As for prop devt, they only have BJ City JV to look forward to. Their own portion I think is substantially recognised/completed and reflected in the accounts. They did commit on a big piece of land in the middle of some oil palm plantation. Unless this turns out to be like Kampar/Utar, I doubt the properties there would sell like hot cake. As for the rights issue, the price is almost the same as the current price. The only sweetener is the free warrant. The RPS is no better as this is not convertible(no capital growth). Although the interest/dividend rate of 5% is higher than bank's FD, I think this would be traded below the rights price of RM0.80 as REITs can give you more than 5% yield with hope of capital growth. In fact other loan stocks have yields of > 5% and they are convertible. My 2 cents worth of opinion.

The top 3 losers based on RM decrease in market cap value whereas the top 3 winners based on % increase in share price. It's like comparing fall in value of a Rolls Royce and % increase in price of a bicycle. Should list top 3 winners based on RM increase in market cap value.

Well managed companies are capable of producing financial reports within a short time. Badly managed ones normally takes a long time to report their quarterly results. TAGB is a typical example of a badly managed organisation where even the accounting department is not functioning efficiently. Most of the time they are only capable of reporting their quarterly results on the very last day!!! Either that or they need to really spend time to crack their heads on juggling the figures to present a palatable set of results. Else the BOD and public shareholders might choke on the results!!!LOL

GoldenShares, comparing Liew with certain management of TAGB is totally undermining Liew. Tan Sri Liew, if I am not wrong is EX-BANKER whereas certain directors of TAGB were charged for fraud by SC, i.e. EX-CONPERSON. The share price reflects the ability of the persons running the show. One knows that the Co. is property devt and goes about making sure that the Co is focused on the biz of property devt. The other, alas, doesn't know what biz the Co is in. Most probably every morning when they turn up to work, they throw a dart to decide what to do that day.

KTlum84 buying Govt bond? Yeh, given the 1MDB fiasco, probably Govt bond also impaired!!Also if same management and staff, even if bond not impaired, easier for them to treat as impaired than to cash out the bond on maturity.

If management and staff still the same, what expansion?? Most probably rights monies will be used to lend out and then subsequently write off as impaired. History usually repeat itself.

Agree with Oasis. Change the entire management. Heck ask the MACC to investigate first. The management seems to be enjoying themselves with impairment provisions every quarter. I would imagine most of these impairments relates to non payment of loans made. In this day and age, most if not all financial institutions requires collaterals valued more than the loans if you borrow from them and MBSB is no exception. Even Ah Longs requires collaterals!!! Why are they providing more and more impairments instead of taking more vigorous actions on recovery of debts???

Mulpha always take cash from shareholders. Never give cash to shareholders. Then cash invested in some oversea project/investments that is making losses. When they want money from rights issues, these investments magically make profits. After taking money, then back to normal loss making.

"Eco World Development Group Bhd is reportedly expanding its landbank in Batu Kawan on mainland Penang. The company, which currently owns 450 acres of leasehold land in Batu Kawan, is said to be acquiring another 300 acres of leasehold land owned by Batu Kawan Development Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Abad Naluri Sdn Bhd. Negotiations are underway and the transaction is expected to be finalised by early April 2016. It is learnt that the new piece of land located just off the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge is being eyed by Eco World for a mixed used development project comprising landed and high rise residential units along with commercial space.

(NST, 16/03/2016)"

Extracted from Jones Lang Wootton. Similar article in The Edge Prop on 29.02.16. Is this land the same as the one in the JVA between Malton/Batu Kawan development. Anyone any idea??

MMC is rubbish company. Management does not know what business they are doing. So, do a bit of everything and hope that at the end of the day make some profit. Jack of all trades but master of none. It will never be a Messi, Chong Wei, Tenaga (utilities), West Port(Port), Gamuda(construction), i.e. people/organisation who are focused and very good in their trade/biz.

Those that subscribed at RM1.60 and RM1.20 in those days will have seen their investments shrunk. RM1.60 to RM0.27. Now rights at RM0.25, guess what the market price will be after rights???
