Its very easy to justify loan from Banks as it was merely refinancing of the existing debt in USD to RM.

Note that HY already have huge surplus cash and the have huge inventory of oil as an assurance to payback the Debt incase things do not go well in the future.

Trading is still a business to satisfy the supply needs of Shell retail in Malaysia.

But the margin would be way thinner. Though extremely thin but being a fixed value (say 1 USD/brl + transfer price from china at DDP terms) like how retailers have...

Banks would have no worries giving them the loan ma.

I remember very clearly that is was probability who heavily promoted the idea that hengyuan should be buying WTI which is much cheaper. He even said that someone in malaysia was buying WTI in big quantity and he hoped that is was hengyuan who bought them.

You sure that Brent is popular here..Brent is north sea..transport distance is almost as far compared with WTI..both are light sweet crude more expensive but Brent is about 5 to 10% more...

Every 1 barrel of crude oil that goes into the cracker produces a range of end products such as petrol, diesel, jet fuel etc

The globally used formula to calculate crack spread is the 3:2:1 Crack Spread ratio. Google to read up.
