md1961....dont la ignore all the interim dividend pay out. RM0.40 and coming RM0.90 are the special dividend.

i got IGBREIT, PAVREIT and YTLREIT....all the DY is not bad....capital also gain...slowly but surely.

KLCC very expensive dont have enough $$$$ to invest yet but will keep in mind. Now i concentrate all my $$$ into IGBREIT and YTLREIT. Once it hit what i want to keep, then will look into others.

After Xdate....RM1.50 would be my breakeven point.....anything higher, i did not make loss....anything lower, i would have make a bit of paper loss but no big deal....i'm in for the long run.

TF is smart in timing of the payout of 0.9. XD is end July but end Aug is when the 0.9 actually pay out AND its also the time for their 2nd QR to be out. Any further interim Div or not is anybody guess. How much, when? If after XD and price drop....and after QR got interim....then those who sold after XD in early Aug will be banging their head.

After Dec 18 0.4 SD, there were news about the planes selling off....everyone was expecting a high final div to be made so ppl hold on to their shares but instead TF go and give a high SD. The expectation of high div payout was satisfied and thats why share price after 0.40 SD never really affect the price so much.

Remember.... historically, AA had never fail to deliver interim div.

Sharmila, i dont know what is your purchase price but if you had bought it at 2.30.....if share price by end of the month is 3....you had gain 0.70....SD is 0.9 but can only receive end of Aug....is it worth to get 0.70 end of July and not wait another 1 month to get additional 0.2? Thats your decision to make. Of course you must also consider that after X Date, the price will drop but how much is the drop is not known.

So my bottom line to cut loss is between RM1.50 - RM1.60....breakeven point. From historical data, AA had never fail to deliver dividend every year. I had been lucky to enjoy 2 SD...1 in Dec 2018 and 1 coming Aug 2019. Apa mahu takut? Scare the company will bungkus?

I already took 0.12 + 0.40 + 0.90 (coming SD).....so i have recover RM1.40 per share. Lets say i buy at RM3 last time....that means i had almost recover 50% of my investment all in less than 1 year. So if the share price drop, so long as its above RM1.50....i still not losing money. I will hold on and ride the wave with AA. I doubt it will drop that low.

Some will even tell you price will fall to 1.50 after SD....but thats like saying their share is going back to their IPO price. A company this size now with cash reserve and assets backed + potential future growth....its only worth 1.50? You decide to believe it or not then.

Sharmila, in theory...yes but in actual, it depend on market forces. There is no 100% certainty....if we can know for sure....then everyone here make millions already. Some do claim they do but would you believe it?

In the forum, there are many type of ppl....some are just BS and some are with substance. There are even some jokers who make it their life long intention to cause panic...will just simply say..." delisting soon" but when you ask them do they even know what it takes to get a listed co to delist....they have no ideas. These are the ones who "have yet to grow hair between their leg".

Save MAS cos there are too many cronies inside....cant let it bungkus...the domino effect is too deep into the food chain. IMO, its not worth saving cos its already chronic, too many leakages every where....purchase expensive never mind cos they can use the excuse "i dont know what is the market price" not even for an egg, a glass or a rim of A4 paper. Being stupid, brainless and useless is fundamental for survival in MAS.

AA was build on a different platform, a different work culture and attitude. Mentality of staff are different as such. At this point in time, AA dont need saving, its strong, future is bright, the staff and management are adaptive and cost effective. Always watching the bottom line, sales team monitor seat available on each flight by the minute and adjust their pricing accordingly to give the highest benefit to the company. That's why you can see AA ticket price change everyday.

Pandu1, the sucess of AA was not due to Pahamin alone....there were many factor. TF and Kamarudin contribution cannot be ignored. The entire pioneer team effort over the past 15 years or so in AA may not be duplicated in MAS due to the "tidak apa" attitude of MAS staff. AA have the do or die attitude and their team is always focus on bottom line. Cant say the same about MAS.

Also, you cannot run a national carrier the same way you run a budget airline co. If Pahamin think her can turn MAS around, good luck to him but i wont bet anything on it until maybe 10 years later.

My take is NO cos the register of members on 31 July (entitlement date) at 5pm will not have your name cos u already sold on 26 July. As such you wont get the SD.

Entitlement date is 31 July....you name must be in the register of members on that day at 5pm...if not, you are not entitle to the SD.

Newbie, i wont answer you number 1. For number 2....it depend on the price...if it can give me profit more than RM0.90...i may consider selling now and not wait for SD. Its about 2.90 now....if it go up (lets say) till RM4....why not sell it and make the profit NOW instead of waiting till end of Aug to get the cash? After SD, price should drop at least a bit (in theory)....then i may consider buying it up again.

those who lost everything are those who gamble, play contra....genuine investor dont. For me, i invest in few counter....mostly in REIT and some in other counters. If you cant afford the loss, stay away or buy bluechips. No need to borrow money from Ah Long, use savings to invest. Some put in FD, some in property, some in shares but multi counter....just to diversify the risk.

If borrow from Ah Long and gamble, then better go Genting, dont buy shares. If you gamble and loss it all....serve you right.

AA had hedge 70% of fuel need for 2019 but this is base on certain historical data....that means old plane....new plane consume less. So in theory, they may had hedge more than 70%. That means less rick for the company and investor.

BigPay will be a "bank", in time to come, it should generate good income for the group as unlike conventional bank, this bank do not have a "counter" or physical place, its in cyberspace. The operational cost therefore should be very low to operate this bank. It will be open for business 24 by 7 since internet does not sleep. In the long run....i think its a good business model.

TF mentioned that they will also start selling their competitor air ticket on their website. Theory is, if you cant kill them...why not make money from them. Every ticket sold will generate some commission to the group. Noty much investment needed to do this, just API to link the website.

As it is now, the share price is RM2.75....if this price remain fairly constant until Xdate, then the price after Xdate would be RM1.80 - 1.85. Looking at the Shareholders Fund of the company, assets owned, number of planes, number of route, etc + potential profits in the future...is this a good buy? Evaluate it yourself.
