Yea, because of the acquisition of the drilling segment, the company incurred big debts. This is the core reason of what makes Sapura now

Shahril's big salary is part of the company strategy to get loans. Cut salary doesn't help the company and it only leads to possible breach of the loan agreements with the banks

@Mabel Hopefully Sapnrg can continue to benefits from Aramco so we too as shareholders can buy more KFC :(

Saudi Aramco shares jump 10% on stock market debut

Shares of the state-owned oil company rose to 35.2 Saudi riyals ($9.38) from 32 riyals in early deals in Riyadh, up 10% and hitting their daily limit.
The price gives Aramco a valuation of $1.88 trillion and makes it the largest listed company in the world.
Aramco's public debut, which listed 1.5% of its shares locally on the Saudi Tadawul, is the largest on record — topping the $25 billion Alibaba raised when it went public in September 2014.

Abu Dhabi could invest up to US$1.5 billion in the initial public offering of Saudi Aramco, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Saudi Arabia now relies on nearby friends to bring home a success in the world’s largest listing ever, after seeing that foreign investors are not exactly rushing to buy into its giant oil company.

The oil-rich emirate of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is preparing to invest in Saudi Aramco via one or more state-controlled entities, Bloomberg’s sources said. Officials from Abu Dhabi and Aramco are meeting this week to hammer out a potential agreement about the emirate’s investment.

OPEC sees demand for its crude oil at 29.6 million bpd for 2020, which is around 1.1 million bpd lower than the expected average demand for 2019, the organization said in its closely watched Monthly Oil Market Report on Thursday.

This year’s demand for OPEC crude is seen at 30.7 million bpd, or 900,000 bpd lower than demand for OPEC’s oil in 2018.

The expected demand for OPEC crude in 2020 is still 70,000 bpd below the cartel’s overall production for October, so OPEC may have to consider in early December cutting even more production if it has any hope of bringing demand and supply for its oil into balance.

Such as decision, however, may be tough to make because deeper cuts will hand more share of the market to the growing supply of non-OPEC oil, mostly from the United States.

While figures suggest an oversupply in OPEC’s oil demand-supply, the cartel appears to be making a case against deeper cuts as its outlook for next year sounds a bit more bullish than previously decisively pessimistic forecasts.

Pharmaniaga Bhd hogs the limelight today. The stock opened at RM2.62 this morning, a big gap from last Friday's closing of RM2.26, on news that the government has agreed to provide a 25-month interim period for procurement of drugs to Pharmaniaga after its concession ends on Nov 30.

The stock is trading at RM2.45, soaring 19 sen or 8.41%, as at 10.30am, with about 1.078 million shares changing hands.

The Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad last Friday said the interim period from Dec 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2021 was to ensure that there was no supply chain disruption in the supply and distribution of medicines to the public healthcare facilities nationwide.

"If the Ministry of Health is able to take over the role of Pharmaniaga in less than 25 months, then an open tender for procurement of medicines will be initiated early," Dr Dzulkefly told the media after his ministry's post-Cabinet meeting last Friday.

Pharmaniaga's share price plunged two weeks ago on concerns that the company will lose its medical supplies concession after Dr Dzulkefly announced that there would be no more concessionaires for logistics and distribution services for medical supplies, and an open tender system would be introduced instead.
