I look at this counter and cannot make a case for it. Even if the CPY produces 100 kg of gold and sells it at 2k USD, it is only about 200k USD or 1 million ringit. It takes two years to pay off the lease. What about the costs of operation, royalty, tax, etc ?
And at the moment they do not even produce 100 kg ...

Operator EnQuest (LON: ENQ) is to defer drilling at its Kraken field following last year’s changes to the North Sea windfall tax.
In a trading update, the company says it has “has further optimised its capital programme for 2023” as a result of the government’s fiscal tinkering in November.
Planned production drilling at the Kraken field has been shelved, while the company’s cash capital expenditure for 2023 is expected to be approximately $160 million – that excludes acquisitons.
The company’s planned investment programme includes three infill wells at Magnus, and three new wells at Golden Eagle.

UNPLANNED KRAKEN SHUT-IN
Bumi Armada Berhad ("Bumi Armada") wishes to announce that, following a prolonged period of top quartile production and operational performance, production from the Armada Kraken FPSO ("Kraken FPSO") was recently shut-in following the failure of critical hydraulic submersible pump (HSP) transformers. The Kraken FPSO is owned by Bumi Armada’s wholly owned subsidiary, Armada Kraken Pte Ltd ("AKPL") and is deployed at the Kraken Field under a bareboat charter contract ("BBC").
AKPL, together with EnQuest (the field operator), planned and executed a restart of the facility but the attempted remediation programme was unsuccessful, and the Kraken FPSO remains shut-in.
AKPL is working with EnQuest to assess alternative technical solutions, with the aim to return to production, on a phased basis, in the coming weeks.

( How does the new windfall tax work? Prime Minister Rishi Sunak introduced the 25% Energy Profits Levy when chancellor. In the 2022 Autumn Statement, the current Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said the levy would increase to 35% from January 2023, and run until March 2028. It was previously due to finish in 2025.

TotalEnergies has already announced a cut to its North Sea spend as a result of the change, while Harbour Energy blamed it for job cuts.
EnQuest chief executive, Amjad Bseisu, said: “Looking ahead, changes to the UK Energy Profits Levy will impact cash flow generation and have implications for our capital allocation strategy and our UK production growth ambitions.
