Muhiyddin is the weakest PM in history, he faces challengers within his own party and PN parties are not respecting him. Why? Because UMNO-PAS known that his PM-ship is depending on their support, that's why they can violate MCO, demand positions openly. They don't give face and respect Muhiyddin. That's why they can bully Muhiddyin openly without worry about consequences, that's why Muhiyddin can't enforce discipline within PN.
Can you imagine if DAP did the same thing by demanding position openly?
Despite some noises, Tun M was treated with respect in PH. PH even agreed to let him be PM as long as he wants, Anwar said give him space to do necessary to save the country.
The contrast is so obvious.
Having work with both side, Muhiyddin should know the character of the people he work with more than anyone else.

Meanwhile, Bersatu strategist Rais Hussin believed that Mahathir had every right as an MP not to sit on the government bench. "It is unprecedented but we are living in unprecedented times," he said. Rais added that Bersatu also needs to look at the matter carefully so as not to worsen the rift between its two top leaders and break the party further apart. "My hope is that there would be some form of reconciliation between the two top leaders in the greater interests of the nation given that we are facing a very portent pandemic." Asked if there were efforts to mend ties between Muhyiddin and Mahathir, Rais said it was a work in progress. "Muhyiddin extended the olive branch from his inaugural speech as prime minister. "They are both seasoned leaders in their own right,"

Another party leader expressed doubt that Muhyiddin would have the gumption to take action against Mahathir - the founding member of the party. "Do they dare to take action against party member number one? The party is already unstable as it is," said the source. Prior to the movement control order (MCO), Mahathir and his allies had been conducting roadshows to rally party members against Muhyiddin for pulling off the "Sheraton Move" in late February and installing himself as prime minister. Although the bulk of Bersatu MPs backed Muhyiddin, it has caused deep divisions within the party. Will there be negotiations? Several party leaders told Malaysiakini that the Muhyiddin faction might find ways to avoid the potential embarrassment by hiding the split. For instance, Bersatu supreme council member and long-time Mahathir loyalist Abu Bakar Yahya said the seating arrangement is controlled by PAS' Takiyuddin Hassan, who is the law minister and therefore also in charge of Parliamentary affairs. "If we really know Tun (Mahathir), he is not the type who would break the rules. "We would only know for sure when the letter informing of the seating arrangement comes," said Abu Bakar, who is also Mahathir's political secretary. At the time of writing, one attempts to establish if there were any efforts by Muhyiddin's faction to extend the olive branch to Mahathir has been unsuccessful.

Based on the experience of Perak in 2009 - the only other incident of a change in government mid-term - the new seating arrangement will only be revealed on the day of the sitting. Can't stop Dr M According to a party insider, who spoke to Malaysiakini on condition of anonymity, the party leadership cannot punish Mahathir for sitting on the opposition bench. He said the party rules stipulate that a member can only be dismissed if the person joins another party, contests in an election for public office against a Bersatu candidate, sues the party or loses Malaysian citizenship. "What is the offence (if Mahathir sits with the opposition)? There is no offence," said the source. Several party leaders were in agreement that any attempt to sanction Mahathir or other party MPs siding with the opposition would be difficult and a drawn-out process. A complaint would have to be lodged with the disciplinary committee in which an investigation would follow. The member being investigated will also have to present himself before the committee for a hearing.

Dilemma in Bersatu over Dr M's 'rebellion'
History will be made on May 18 as Parliament is set to convene for only a day with one party being represented on both sides of the floor. Bersatu, which is leading the broad Perikatan Nasional coalition, will have members led by its president Muhyiddin Yassin on the government bench while a smaller group led by its chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad will sit with the opposition. This will likely be a perplexing and unprecedented scenario, one which many Bersatu leaders, save for Mahathir, are unwilling to go on record for when contacted by Malaysiakini. Some claimed that there was a gag order. On April 20, Mahathir made it clear that he will not join the government bench and that Bersatu - which means "to unite" or "to be one" - was essentially split in two. "So, the faction against the government cannot sit together with the faction with the government," he said. Parliament has yet to update its website with the seating arrangement.

It surely must be lowest kind of low where there is profiteering on food aid by billionaires and their cronies meant for the poorest and the struggling.
To say that some have lost all morals and worship the Ringgit as their deity is not an understatement.

The constant call to go online since the MCO began, actually even before the MCO, the move to implement all kinds of "e" matter such as e-wallet and e-parking has always come with the assumption that everyone in this country had unlimited access to personal computer, smart phone and unlimited access to super speed data. All of which is not a reflection of the reality in this country.
There is no doubt that the internet has simplified many processes and this technology is the future of our world but in the implementation of all things digital, the government need to have a heart. There must be consideration and provision for those without the necessary device, the lack of data connectivity either due to finances or the plain absence of it and the fact that a portion of society either due to age or otherwise are incapable of handling this very new and to them very alien concept. Until our society is more equitable, the government must carry out implementation of new digital endeavors with an eye to these issues. The failure to do so will mean the disaffected and disadvantaged will be even more left behind.

Noor Hisham – a gift to M'sians at this taxing time
You don't need to build the tallest building on earth or send a person to space to earn respect.'
China Global TV Network (CGTN) has listed Health MInistry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (above) as one of the world’s top three doctors ‘born’ from public health officials in handling the Covid-19 outbreak, alongside America’s Dr Anthony Fauci and New Zealand’s Dr Ashley Bloomfield.
On its website on Tuesday, CGTN said it has crowned Dr Noor Hisham as one of the top doctors in the world for his straightforward and calm approach in handling the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia.
CGTN said that a few months ago, hardly anybody knew of Noor Hisham, 56, and the other two but they have now become the most “trustable” sources of information and facts for the pandemic in their own countries.
"Every time I see Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, I feel reassured. The man has been a tower of strength for many Malaysians," CGTN quoted a local portal journalist as saying, adding that Noor Hisham is also a "trusted face" and "a bulwark against confusion".
According to CGTN, Fauci, 79, is the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAD) while Bloomfield, 54, is the director-general of health in New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba congratulated Noor Hisham for earning the recognition.
Adham, in his latest Facebook posting, said: “A great appreciation and honour for the country’s medical sector when our Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is recognised by China Global Television Network as among the world’s best three doctors in handling the Covid-19 situation.”

Minister clarifies application process for operation of businesses in MCO phase 3
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi has made some clarifications regarding what businesses are allowed to operate in the third phase of the movement control order (MCO) as well as the application process. “Under the first and second phases of the MCO, KPDNHEP had given permission to industry players to ensure the rakyat has access to basic necessities and critical products throughout the MCO. “In order to balance the economic sustainability of the country, the government has agreed to take proactive and responsive steps to allow several additional economic sectors to operate in phases (in the third phase of the MCO),” he said in a statement today. He clarified that businesses in the food, e-trading and delivery sectors that have already received the ministry’s approval to operate in the first or second phase of the MCO do not need to reapply with KPDNHEP. However, those who have applied to the ministry before but have yet to receive their approval should reapply to the ministry again, he said. Meanwhile, there are several additional sub-sectors that are being allowed to operate under supervision by the ministry. They are hardware stores, electric and electronic stores (does not include telecommunications and ICT stores) and full-service laundromats. These sub-sectors must apply for approval to operate under the MCO, said the minister, through the International Trade and Industry Ministry’s (Miti) website. “Only complete requests which fulfill the standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be considered. Requests received from anywhere else other than the (Miti) portal will not be processed,” he added. These companies must also make sure that the location of their business is not within a red zone, yellow zone or areas under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) as imposed by the National Security Council (NSC), he said. He stressed that these businesses will be under his ministry’s supervision and they must also obey the rules set by the NSC, the Health Ministry, the local government as well as other relevant enforcement agencies. If they are found to violate any of them, the businesses will have their approval license revoked immediately, he said. The MCO was first implemented on March 18, initially for a two-week period. It has since been extended twice, first to April 14 and then later to April 28.

This IMF projection is based on the "V" shaped economic recovery model which is the popular economic recession recovery model that seem to be favored. Most economist think that the global fundamental economic principles are intact - supply and demand are still present but what has disrupted global demand and causing this global economy meltdown is a medical cause and not a economic cause. Hence economist think that once the covid 19 pandemic recedes; the global spending and demand will not only normalized but increased. This IMF projection of Malaysia's GDP to grow 9pct in 2021 is based on a collective ASEAN projection hence it is flawed. Malaysia's main and pretty much only export is petroleum. Unless oil prices explode to USD 100 to 120 a barrel next year; only then can we see the projected 9% GDP Malaysian. This is unlikely to happen because even if the global economy improves beyond global expectations in 2021, the problem is there is just to many oil producers in the world today and what we hand just witnessed in March 2020 between the Russians, American and Saudi is that no one can agreed on cutting oil production to sure up demand. Secondly, for a country to truly feel the positive global economic benefits is to enter into the global supply chain network. Sadly Malaysia has long detached from this supply chain network. The only two items that Malaysia contributes to the global network is Petroleum for which we are a small player and have no leverage in controlling global prices and palm oil, a has been product soon to be replaced by synthetic palm oil. As for manufacturing, most manufacturing from Malaysia in the 80's and 90's have moved to Vietnam and China and thus Malaysia hardly makes money from Manufacturing. With the PN gov't in place in the last two months that comprises of a globally famous corrupt collation partner UMNO and a Islamist anti capitalism partner; it is very unlikely Malaysia is going to attract foreign investment. Not to mention the lackluster caliber of the current super bloated cabinet ministers and PM and his inner circle does look like the current negative GDP for 2020 is going to be managed well. Hence I think IMF may play a role in solving Malaysia's economic woes for which politicians across the political divide have failed - a bail out from the IMF and world bank. This would be a bitter pill to swallow as both these entities will drastically cut Malaysia's operating cost which will see massive gov't cuts in unnecessary glamours projects, massive reduction in civil servants post, end to preferential treatment in Malaysia business, politicians made accountable corruption and end to dumbo politics which is rampant these days.

IMF: Malaysia's GDP to grow 9pct in 2021, fastest among Asean-5 countries
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected Malaysia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) to grow at a rate of nine percent next year, the fastest among the Asean-5 countries, which are expected to see a combined GDP growth of 7.8 percent.
Besides Malaysia, Asean-5 includes Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, which are set to expand by 8.2 percent, 6.1 percent, 7.6 percent and seven percent, respectively.
For 2020, the Washington-based organisation forecasts Malaysia’s economy to contract 1.7 percent, as the Asean-5 GDP shrinks 0.6 percent.
The IMF’s latest 2021 projection for Malaysia is higher than Fitch Ratings’ growth forecast of 5.8 percent.
Global growth is expected to rebound to 5.8 percent in 2021, well above trend, reflecting the normalisation of economic activity from very low levels, the IMF said in a report released yesterday.
It projected a minus three percent global growth for 2020, which is largely affected by Covid-19 pandemic.
“The advanced economy group is forecast to grow at 4.5 percent, while growth for the emerging market and developing economy group is forecast at 6.6 percent,” it said.
In comparison, in 2010 global growth after the global financial crisis rebounded to 5.4 percent from -0.1 percent in 2009.
However, the rebound in 2021 depends critically on the pandemic fading in the second half of 2020, allowing containment efforts to be gradually scaled back and restoring consumer and investor confidence, the IMF said.
Significant economic policy actions have already been taken across the world, focused on accommodating public health care requirements, while limiting the amplification to economic activity and the financial system.
The projected recovery assumes that these policy actions are effective in preventing widespread firm bankruptcies, extended job losses and system-wide financial strains.
Nonetheless, the level of GDP at the end of 2021 in both advanced and emerging market and developing economies is expected to remain below the pre-virus baseline.
As with the size of the downturn, there is extreme uncertainty around the strength of the recovery.
“Some aspects that underpin the rebound may not materialise, and worse global growth outcomes are possible - for example, a deeper contraction in 2020 and a shallower recovery in 2021 - depending on the pathway of the pandemic and the severity of the associated economic and financial consequences,” IMF said.

That cushy chairmanships of scores of major GLCs and government agencies are being dished out to practically all MPs who have not been appointed as ministers or deputy ministers illustrates how insecure the backdoor PM Muhyiddin feels about his leadership position.
When the captaincies of these key entities which may make or break the nation are unprofessionally distributed like spoils of a victory, motivated purely to strategically entrench the leader’s position, you know that the country will soon go into deep trouble.
Such a reckless and ruinous strategy will run the economy aground, in addition to confirming the weaknesses and vulnerability of Muhyiddin’s leadership.
This ragtag backdoor coalition, which sneaked in to run the country without the people’s mandate, is obviously taking the country’s governance a giant step backward.
