Can someone pls explain me the bonus share issue ?
Lets say i got 1000 share in Top glove, and i bought at RM28.
So during ex bonus date: i will be rewarded 3000 share.
Usually after the bonus date, people will try to sell their extra shares to get profit. For example it's RM30 on bonus date and then drop to RM26 one day after.
If i bought at RM28 and got rewarded 3000 share now, I would lose more (RM26-RM28) X 3000 = RM6000 compared to if i dont get the bonus share (RM26-RM28) X 1000 = RM2000. Am i correct? If its right, then getting more bonus share might not be a good thing though if the price drops??
