The common flu virus is a rhinovirus while covid-19 is a coronavirus. Rhino is primarily a respiratory disease whereas corona is a vascular disease. A vascular disease damages the blood vessels, meaning it can damage all the organs since all organs are supplied with blood. Scientists even found covid-19 in the test-icles of infected men. So there are big big differences between the 2 viruses. Of course rhinovirus is much easier to tackle than coronavirus due to the structural complexity of the latter. So please don't put the 2 in the same pot!

Just like no country can contain the delta, no country can contain this variant too since it is more mutated/contagious. Only hope is some existing vaccines can be effective against it. And don't forget to pray for divine intervention, God knows we all need extra help.

I can only pray that covid is similar to common flu, but it is not.

New variant has 30 mutations on the spiked protein, meaning mrna won't be effective. Inactivated vaccines target the whole virus, so there is a chance.
