I believe should be direct competitor of grab. Imagine using big pay for ride hailing/ food delivery. Drastically increasing the number of users in SEA.

Hmm Tony hinted about Airasia venturing into Ride hailing services too. As far as I know, the likes of Uber and Grab are doing really bad bottomline, good move by Airasia?

Good time to average down. When this counter moves up it normally goes up very fast. Drastically undervalued.

Just for comparison, when Dayang was 1.40, Naim used to be 1.17. The ratio was just right if we look at the PE a few months back. Now, Naim PE is way lower, and Dayang's share price is 1.57, while Naim is only 0.92. So indirectly, you're buying over close to 30% of Dayang with a lower price, and yet you get a huge upside from the Company's property business in Sarawak, and a huge land bank. Once budget is out with more allocation to Sarawak, we may just see a huge jump in Naim's share price.

lol.. u guys know that he is just stepping down as acting CEO for those subsidiaries rite? Still CEO of the group. And, as a wise man once said, if the company could be managed by any one else even after the founder quits, then it is a company worth investing in.

haha.. i can't wait to see show whereby retailers sell airasia shares pushing the price down because they thought airasia's cost will significantly increase. Most don't even know what hedging means.

Hmm this is weird. Same amount of buy and sell at 1.81 and 1.82. Seems like a price stabilisation before a big announcement?

Retailers are so funny. They say Dayang is the one that makes all the profit. Well Naim gets a % if it, and they say if not coz of Dayang, naim is net loss etc. I mean, the share price already factored in that Naim owns ~26% of Dayang. And it is in fact, still a lower PE than Dayang. So what it essentially means is, investing in Naim to get that access to 26% of Dayang’s profit Is still cheaper than buying the shares of Dayang. Naim’s investment in Dayang is part of their business and financial performance. Jeez.

Is just like Berkshire Hathaway Investment in Apple/Amex etc etc. Can you say that if not because of Apple’s/Amex’s profit, Berkshire Is actually shit? I’m just stating a hypothetical example here.

Similar to Airasia, if one day their digital arm becomes 70% of their profits, can you say that if not because of the digital transformation, airasia is actually shit? Jeez. Look at the company as a whole guys.

I’m not pinpointing to any particular forumer here. But apparently there are some (also in real life) who really thinks we should look at Naim only and ignore their share of profits in Dayang when deciding to buy Naim’s shares. What a way to gauge a share’s value lol.

Lol.. so many comments on a non trading day. Just shows how big of a brand AirAsia has become ;).

To all who believe in AirAsia, just hold for 5 years. Those who wanna trade, just sell and buy back when it’s lower. There will always b willing buyer and seller. Make a few bucks that way. Easy. No need to say buy or sell , just share news if relevant and ppl will decide.

I personally hope they don’t go up too quickly. Haven’t buy enough . Their growth certainly cannot be ignored . No matter which counter in klse that I do research in, I honestly can’t find a counter that have
1. Great brand presence
2. Great management and company culture
3. Huge growth potential (I can’t emphasise this enough)
4. Yet still profit making (unlike the likes of UBER)
5. PE is still low even at current profit levels

Please, if anyone have a counter that fulfills all 5 criteria above, please please let me know. I’ll make sure I put a % of it as my portfolio .

Whatever goes down will go up.. it’s just a matter of time before hibiscus is back up there together with the oil price. At this price, even a rise back to 1.2 which is just a couple months ago is already a 30% profit. Upside is just too huge with this counter.

@Ncm88 when you imply that a stock is only good if institutional pushes for them, this is only applicable for short term traders. Everyone have a different method of valuing the stock. And the most important in this case is the pro active ness of the Management team, as well as the strength of the company’s balance sheet and financial performance. Institutional investors can only ignore until the stock is too good to turn a blind eye.

Also, many who do not understand why the tax is high, it’s because of the deferred tax liabilities driven by investments in Qualifying CE. It’s non cash in nature.

Many people don’t know how to read financial statements?
1. Hibiscus is cash rich. Cash and receivables itself can cover its current liabilities
2. Financial performance is much better than last year. The “profits” in 2018 comes from the negative goodwill.
3. Increase in revenue just shows its growing aggressively. Potential upside is sooo huge.

Low PE too. Now I know why most retailers can’t earn from stock market. Ppl just don’t know how to search for undervalued stocks.

@shrobin regarding the article, it’s just a rant from an “entitled” passenger. If want first class service then don’t fly budget airline la. It’s called budget airline for a reason. You want additional services you pay for it. And people still pay because after adding all up it’s still cheaper than say, flying SIA. Airasia can’t make everyone happy, but as long as it makes the masses happy, to me it’s a great business.

So fishy. The theme park news announced to push the shares high up, and then release this news to bring it down. Worst thing is using GENM to purchase shares from Mr Lim. This is bad practice and not the kind of management that investors like Warren Buffett would even consider. Totally breaks the fundamentals of shareholders trust. What it takes to approve this purchase? Any mention in previous AGM? Think about it, is the the company which you would entrust your money in? If you have only 20 counters to invest in your lifetime, would this be one of it?

just look at Magni’s balance sheet, it is obvious this is an undervalued stock. The market trend/Nike retail is seasonal. Should not be a valuation point of a stock.

Market risk is too high now. Wait for the Dow to stabilise then only reevaluate the entry point. But at the mean time I’ll collect some at 1.80, 1.70 etc. When this stock reaches 2.7 level again, the 10-20cents won’t make much difference. All reports point to a good QR, in terms of passenger capacity, routes utilisation etc. PE is extremely low if compared to other similar players of other countries, and the diversification into the tech sector should see this company valued much higher. (Most tech company PE is like 20-30x in Malaysia).

Sure, airasia tech portion is still too small as compared to its main biz. But a PE of below 7, and a great management team and a visionary leader, This price now is already considered a steal. The only reason why it’s not as high as it should is just because of the bearish market sentiments.
