Even Stony can't talk the talk and walk the walk and you expect IR to give you the answer on when capitalA can submit the PN17 regularisation plan?

Capital A Bhd is optimistic about its potential growth this year, following a strong rebound in travel demand post Covid, and expects to be out of Practice Note 17 (PN17) status by the end of this year, said chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes.

He said the investment holding group, which is involved in aviation, logistics, lifestyle, and financial services ventures, plans to submit its finalised regularisation plan to Bursa Malaysia as early as February.

“We can be out of PN17 status, definitely this year, and I hope much earlier than that. All of the consultants are now going through all the work.

“We hope to submit to Bursa somewhere between February and April. Once we get the approval, then we will go through it,” he told reporters on the side-lines of the airasia Super App rider and driver appreciation event here on Thursday (Jan 12).

Capital A fell into the PN17 list of Bursa Securities, a categorisation for distressed entities, in January 2022.

Just wait and see what Stony can come out with PN17 regularisation plan without capital injection or debt restructure to pare down debts and start aflesh like many other airlines did before you salute AA too early.

CapitalA stay afloat by using advance sale for current working capital and roll over debts to next quarter with increasing interest payment. So how long can this last?

Indeed!
Just like SIA, CapitalA AirAsia was also paralysed by the pandemic without any revenue. However, unlike SIA with Big Brother Temasek cumming to the rescue, CapitalA took many initiatives to revive and stay afloat without any help from the Malaysian Government.

Now you know why we salute Air Asia..

The negative balance of Equity reserves increased from P16.89 billion to P= 19.67 billion on account of the translation loss on investment in Petron Malaysia as a result of the weakening of Malaysian Ringgit against the US dollar.

Starting March 31, 2012, the Group’s exposure to foreign currency risks also arise from US dollar-denominated sales and purchases, principally of crude oil and petroleum products, of Petron Malaysia whose transactions are in Malaysian ringgit, which are subsequently converted into US dollar before ultimately translated to equivalent Philippine peso amount using applicable rates for the purpose of consolidation.

Just beware Bplant q2 result will not be good without any disposal gain.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 19): Boustead Plantations Bhd (BPlant) shot up as much as 12 sen or 13.48% to an all-time high of RM1.01 in Monday (June 19) morning trading, after The Edge Malaysia weekly, citing sources, reported that Boustead Holdings Bhd is planning to divest its 57% stake in the plantations group. Year-to-date, it has risen 70.18% or 41.65 sen from 59.35 sen

Meanwhile, 49.31 million shares traded hands, making BPlant the sixth-most traded counter on Monday. The volume of traded shares was almost 25 times its 200-day average of 2.21 million.

According to the weekly magazine, bidders include YTL Group, Wilmar International Ltd, IOI Corp Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd

In a note on Monday, PublicInvest Bank said it estimated that BPlant could have an enterprise value (EV) of RM2.5 billion to RM3 billion, thanks to its vast tracts of lands in Malaysia, which include strategically located parcels that are suitable for property development.

The Edge Malaysia as business news portal has every right to chase and report business unconfirmed deals. Something is definitely brewing in Boustead Plantations for share price to suddenly shoot up from 64 cents on 08/06/2003 to high of RM1.01 on 19/06/23 in just 7 trading days (It can also be the work of pump and dump syndicate)

BOUSTEAD HOLDINGS BERHAD'S CLARIFICATION ON NEWS ARTICLE TITLED "BOUSTEAD SAID TO BE DISPOSING OF PLANTATION ARM" BY THE EDGE MALAYSIA
We refer to the news article titled “Boustead said to be disposing of plantation arm” which appeared in The Edge Malaysia newspaper dated 19 June 2023.

The Company having made due inquiry with its Board of Directors, its major shareholders and all such person reasonably familiar with the matter, the Company wishes to confirm that the Company have not entered into any agreement involving the disposal of its stake in Boustead Plantations Berhad. The Company continues to focus on its business plan and value creation for its stakeholders and investors.
This announcement is dated 20 June 2023.

So do the above clarification by Boustead Holding helpful in making Bursa an efficient, vibrant, fair and orderly market?

Why can’t Boustead Holdings Bhd just answer to the point that Boustead Holdings Bhd did or did not invite bidders including YTL Group, Wilmar International Ltd, IOI Corp Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd to bid for its 57% stake in the Boustead Plantation Bhd?

How this will end and who will end up as the winner and loser is yet to be played out but for sure Bursa as an efficient, vibrant, fair and orderly market is a bridge too far.

This is what Tun wrote on Malay backwardness due to PAS islam then.

Tun’s book; “A Doctor in the House”
Chapter 36: Islam and Islamisation.

Tun had explained in length the golden era of Islamic Civilisation, where Islam emphasized on the need to read (Iqraq). Thus early Muslims apparently read the works of the Greeks, the Indian, the Chinese and the Persians. More than that, they carried out their own researches to add up to their body of knowledge in many fields. It was well documented that Muslim scholars are the one who pioneered astronomy, algebra, the study of disease and medicine, celestial navigation, and more.

For centuries, Muslims were well ahead of other civilisation in the mastery of the sciences, medicine and mathematics. But around the Fifteenth century, new interpretations began to spread, saying that (Iqraq) referred to the reading and acquisition of religious knowledge only. And unfortunately, Muslims and their religious teachers stress more on “fardhu ‘ain” (the performance of prayers, fasting, alms-giving and the Haj) which earns merit only for oneself is more important in the afterlife than the “fardhu kifayah”, the injunction which required that Muslim communities must have among them individually whose ability and actions will serve in the defend and promotion of the welfare of their communities and of Islam itself.

Almost immediately after such teaching, the Muslim civilisation regressed whereas the European Christians, who were then living in the Dark Ages, noticed the superiority of Muslim civilisation and decided to acquire the knowledge of the Muslim. They learnt Arabic and studied scientific and other books in the great libraries of the Muslim world and make translation first into Latin and then into other European language. Thus the European Christians rapid advancement in science and technology and with their much-improved weaponry, they were able to project their power in many Muslim lands and to the Far East.

On Chapter 58: Education
Although I was Minister of Education, the details of the Islamic syllabus were determined by Pusat Islam.

Unfortunately, the syllabus that was adopted neglected instruction in the Islamic way of life and its character-building values (ad-din). Emphasis was instead placed largely on the proper performance of the rituals. Islam was taught as a religion of ritual, of dos and don’ts of formalistic requirements and prohibitions, not as a religion of far-reaching human and moral responsibility, not as a way of life. Worse, many of the Islamic religious teachers were supporters of PAS, who took opportunity — and abused their position and public trust — to implant political creed and outlook into the minds of their young students.

Although religious teachers were of junior status in most school, they were powerful. Even the head teachers dared not discipline them for fear of being accused of failing to respect religion.
