Covil suit doesn’t mean SD has sufficient evidence to prove against Kpmg. This is not a Criminal court case.

If SD wins, very good for SD and SD’s shareholders la.

If SD loses its civil suit, SD may potentially face counter suits by Kpmg then.

So, Independent review by EY or other big 4 firms is very important to determine whether got fraudulent transactions in SD or not.

S&P Global, Fitch… Global rating agencies also require audited accounts and reports from SD.

Can Karim and Chairman be transparent about whether they plan to meet the audit deadlines set by SC/Bursa or they still want to blame Kpmg?

Yes @leno…. All Bankers, Bondholders, Fund houses, retail investors would require and probably impatiently waiting for the latest audited reports and audited accounts of SD.

And for Karim to tell MY Public and the World (Reuters, CNA already reported yesterday) that he is Innocent, he did nothing wrong, he just wanted to focus on SD biz as usual, how Kpmg caused problems to him etc. Means buy more SD shares today?

I am just being sarcastic abt that new Chairman who verbally threatened in PC that he would speak to MY Govt to remove Kpmg bla bla bla..

The way he spoke yest only confirmed to me that I am more highly educated than him and that he couldn’t behave professionally in his capacity as a Chairman of a reputable listed company like SD….maybe Steady Punpipi can be a better choice?

To be fair to SD….cannot simply compare 1MDB with SD la. Especially when audited financial results and audit findings were never published to innocent investing public like all of us here.

SD is a listed company. Karim, Chairman, Board of Directors are another matter.

In some cases, the company is saved if top mgmt is in the wrong. Got cases where the CEO/bosses dragged the company down together.

Kpmg is bound by strict rules, TCs and regulations as it is still acting as the external auditor of SD.

Keeping silent in public doesn’t mean Kpmg is admitting anything la. Keeping such silence in public is their legal obligation n their duty in their professional capacity.

SD is a listed company and civil suit served yest. Many rules, regulations, TCs of binding contracts between SD n Kpmg must be considered before releasing info to the public like us.

I am now very afraid of the new Chairman of Serbak….cos he can speak to the Government to remove Kpmg from Malaysia? He seemed very powerful man in Malaysia :)

First time I heard a big 4 kena sued while doing external audit work for a listed co.

If Shafee wins, money ‘won’ from Kpmg can be shared with bilis investors?

How about share prices if Shafee won? Depend on if any audited results of SD, and whether Kpmg would appeal by then…Interesting case.

Announcing EY was chosen and then yest confirmed EY not appointed….confusing betul.

Civil suit would take a longer time especially during current FMCO n ongoing pandemic. Either SD or KPMG wins, No one would know la….unless you are the Judge.

Next step what SD wants to do with Kpmg? Audit how?

Back to SD’s earlier intention to Remove Kpmg and replaced with BDO or EY or other accounting firm?

In the meantime, hope Karim can continue to focus on running his vast businesses including SD.

If he and his Chairman think the recent audit ‘issues’ got nothing to do with SD’s revenue or cashflows….time will tell the truth.

Did the investing public get the news from Kpmg first or from SD first?

Can investing public react ie sell or buy based on news released from either SD or Kpmg?

To watch how the new Chairman spoke during press conf was shocking to me - arrogance, abrasive n abusive towards Kpmg via his vitriolic speech. Noticed he was not as highly educated as the previous Chairman who was replaced, only a diploma holder as per Bursa’s announcement.

Until today, the investing public (shareholders and non-shareholders of SD) still have no idea why SD could not ‘satisfy’ their external auditors’ queries for purpose of year-end audit of SD’s financial accounts.

Let’s watch how this real drama would end :)

This serbak saga is really interesting to follow.

Judges nowadays have to deal with all kinds of suits…not happy with Agong la, not happy with PM la, not happy with own external auditors la, not happy with own family la. Next time maybe can start suing teachers, lecturers for essays or music/art exams…

Ikan bilis retail investors can sue Serbak, sue Bursa, sue external auditors, sue each member of Board of directors in order to recoup their share losses, if any?

Stock market is really Risky…especially when those in position of power lacked integrity or cannot tell the difference of right and wrong anymore. Thanks to some screwed-up self-appointed ‘preachers’ around us in our daily lives…
