Becos the blue chip's goodwill is worth that much? Now the reality sets in.
Actually, we must separate out a co's reality with market perception( which determines a share price.)

Buy fr market will be expensive. The Chinese don't just buy the shares per se. They bought the biz with all its debts and future losses ( industry trend & during co restructuring). Thats why that price, i think. Shell is a big MNC, can't afford any hanky panky.

So, noone wants such a lost making co. If thats the case, what's this hooha all about? ? http://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2016/02/05/sc-and-bursa-malaysia-urged-to-look-into-sale-of-shell-refinery/ At least the Chinese is willing to take up such a lousy deal. Bring so much politics in, no foreign fund will dare touch our companies in the future.

Willc48, are you sure? Have they announced that they will privatize it?
willc48 not good to hold. should sell since they are taking private at 0.165 after announcing bonus split which causing the price to drop from 0.50++ back to around RM0.145. nice and brilliant tactical moves to acquire back shares at cheaper price
