My 2 cent opinion....I am all for open tender and non monopoly of services....... if MyEG cannot compete with the government or other start up.. then they deserve to close shop.... to those budding entrepreneurs here.... how long does it take to set up a service similar to MyEG ? It takes years...... not days, not weeks and not even a few months.

Do u all think a government department can be more efficient and cost conscious than a privately run entity? Just take a trip to jpj or immigration Department.......... MyEG will only collapse if the government cancel their contracts which I think will be bad for consumers as we want more options not less .........

Please correct me if I am wrong,
the government do not pay MyEG anything for its services ......for example its jpj services, we the Rakyat pay them in the form of a service charge. Their revenue and profit is from the service charges we the user pay them NOT the government....of course from the add on services (ie commission the insurance company pay the for every plan the sell etc).........Only the foreign worker renewal service the government pay them a fees (rm38 per person )and that is for them to not just renew the permit but also the maintain, analyse the list etc.......on top of that TS Wong said in the latest interview worse come to the worse they r willing to do it for free for the government....... hence MyEG said only 20% of its business is government based.........the COST incurred by the government in terms of the services offered by MyEG is next to nothing. It’s really a win win for the government to allow MyEG to continue.

They might allow other players to join the game but with a first mover advantage, MyEG have the upper hand

Anyhow It’s jpj services can’t be seen as a monopoly as this service is also available in other places...... ie post office , jpj counter or even insurance company website.....

P/s I do not agree with government going into business for a profit.......conflict of interest!!!

Aiyo even if open tender, which company can offer a better deal leh? They have even said the worse case scenario they will do it for the government for free ...I believe no startup can compete with MyEG ........ if there were, MyEG can acquire them lah ....If u think the government should do the job, what is the cost of procurement, implimentation and maintainace? how long will they take to do it ?Better to make MyEG a GLC right ?

Myeg haven’t recognised any income from the GST Monitoring project........ so if status co their other services contract is until 2020. Hopefully by then their Philippine venture will get traction.....however maybe for next 1-2 years no significant growth

I still think it’s worth a gamble........ why would they set gst to 0% but still want us to submit the accounts ? Gst will be 0 .... unless they want to tract our revenue...... then again if they don’t monitor your sales... businesses can cheat and input a much lower number. The government need all the revenue they can get after abolishing gst. Furthermore I am sure some form of contract would have be sign. They can’t or shouldn’t just cancel it without compensation or some sort. But the big kicker is their Philippine venture

DJ drop started last friday after US annouce better employment figures.......... this is healthy rebalancing.....

haiya ask yourself why did DJ drop so much ? they scared inflation...... the economy is doing well only inflation will go up mah....... they scared the central bank will raise interest rate too fast!!!! central bank interest rate in controlled by humans........ if the market drop too much they announce interest rate reduction again can or not? can right........
