Betkaukau, if you look into last quarter, definitely is in bad shape. But if you look into the top line, there are substantial travel populations in Indo-China area (including Thailand and Vietnam). If the costs maintained well, then will not poor than Malaysia operations.

The target prices revision by CIMB within 4 months:
10/10/2018 Target price RM3.56
7/11/2018 Target price RM2.72
30/11/2018 Target price RM2.12
14/2/2019 Target price RM1.82
The target price is tremendously "revised" by CIMB within short period of time. The budget 2019 Malaysia is tabled on earlier November 2018 and included such additional airport tax annoucement.
Again, I hope the assumptions they used are without any biase and have solid basis. Otherwise it will looks weird, within 4 months, they revised the target price by slashing half of it.

Worst to the involved parties if the following moving forward:
1) Tomorrow AA share price going down further, better substantially lower than the call warrants exercise price
2) The quarter result is good at end of the quarter

No worry. Saham4u. Let see how the investment bankers justify their basis and assumptions. I am not saying whether they are wrong or correct. But definitely they must have the basis and assumptions to form the opinion to post to public. There must have the underlying working papers to substantiate the assumptions.
I agreed what Shrobin said, to substantiate your assumptions, the best way is to wait until the next quarter results which just around the corner to confirm.
When you have an NTA of RM2.58 with profitable business and comparable benchmarking of aviation industry. There will be many clues to form your assumptions.

RM1.82 with an expected special dividend of 19 sen. The net target price is RM1.63. I not sure how they justify. But seem there is direct conflict of interest from CIMB by giving such publication. I will try to write in to Bursa, SC, AA and CIMB Research house to justify the basis of opinion.

Link back a bit to the airport REIT, it can be an end solution to overcome the dispute. I quite agree if under the rm36m lawsuit, AA in negative position unlikely to win. But the counter claim of rm400m, need to see how MAHB defend.
But as Malaysian consumer, wish ministry of transport can step in to settle. Of cos, we hope have lower PSC. I don't think anyone else will say "lim beh wu lui, I suka ho zhui zhui, come on, charge me higher".

Ron 90 nice sharing. If you look at MAHB financial accounts, they are using profit in Malaysia to sustain their loss making oversea operations. Their revenue as what you dhared, it is based on the so called regulated PSC. It is time for government to review.

Back to few months back when all of the AA holders demanding high special dividend then building own airport is quite resist.
But if now, since you can see the disputes between AirAsia and MAHB, it is better to build an airport hub by AA itself. By bringing in traffic, very soon the AAAirport can be open to sell again. Don't be surprise end of the day MAHB (after lost the Major Client AA in KLIA2) to buy back such AAAirport when it lost its major source of income.

If you are poker or black jack player. You know the cards are there d, you cannot predict exactly. But if you have high possibilities, then you should raise your bet. This is what we did in AA counter. Cards left lesser and lesser and we know TF and DK have plan in hand.

Cannot understand still why there are people keep asking people sell. What benefit they have?
If you bought, then understand why you hold and promote to other people buy as well. This is normal.
If you don't have shares, you hope to drop but as individuals whether can move the price as most of here bought the AA shares then only come here. Got people free free walk around other shares forum?I doubt.
If you have shares, but you still ask people to sell. Then what benefit you have.
The best is all people just keep your thinking peacefully. Same words know what you are bought and hold for what.

In coming quarter (4th Quarter) results, I am curious the following:
1) Whether there is any dividend?
It is not common to declare "interim" dividend at last quarter results, because normally this is final quarter and subject to final audit. Normally if it is final, it should be final dividend which required approval from AGM.
2) Cash reserve of the Group?
Quite curious that how much cash reserve in the Group as at 31/12/2018
3) Whether the operating profit of Malaysia, Thailand and other associates/subsidiaries back to profitable trend as the oil price decline and stablize in around USD60?
4) What is the expansion/investment plan moving forward?
If the above favorable especially the operating profit trend become strength back, then only it will trigger to another level. Now the market perception still remain at high oil price and high operating risk, the market need some solid data to review back its potential.

As long oil price and USD remain weak side then AA will be benefited. But is too early to conclude whether coming months and years will remain such. But one thing is favorable now is the winter passed, the usage of oil will keep lower as compared to winter time.

Most likely both side withdraw their claims. Otherwise both sides have to bear serious impact.
MAHB, they will lose their monopoly management and if AA win, then other airlines will do the same to them.
AA, if AA lose, then they will bring huge financial impact to bottom line for paying back such fee. Anyhow if you calculate rm3 from implementation. It should be around rm400m, hehe.
In this commercial world, the best defence is attack. Now both sides also, I will personally opined that very likely close case outside the court IF OUR DEAR MINISTER OF FINANCE step in (but look like keep silence until now; maybe too heavy to handle?)

And the leasing company in US to buy planes to lease is more logic than immediate invest in foreign companies which have forex exchange fluctuation risk.
Just imagine, the US company buy the planes then rent it back at US dollar. This is a safer investment to them.
Or the other way round, take the US Dollar to convert into RM to invest in Malaysian/Foreign companies. Although there will be increased in nominal value, there will be foreign exchange loss whne you realised it which may offset your nominal gain.
You see, this is logical business model which current AAGB moving forward. Frankly speaking, if you really studied detailed, you can learn a lot about how the great business man bring the company to another model and we are now part of it. This is the most interesting part.

To me AA is not only owned 200 planes, as long this franchise worth and well recognized by consumers. Then the number of planes for future is unlimited, when it purchased, then immediately can packaged as a "financial instrument" to sell forward to another leasing company investor. TF is a great finance guy and this is what he doing now.

Special dividend is short term, for long term, AA built the business model which: (1) minimal gearing (2) partnership with plane company, agent to sell the airplane (AA to build stable flight route, then create the occupancy and sell to third parties (3) operations efficiency (Senai Airport, Johor already implemented faster IT system).
The balance risk is whether Airports able to support it IT transitional requirement and the oil price is long run (oil price, this is considered external risk).
For the brand name and business created, TF wont let this legacy to be fallen and it create potential merger and acquisition by larger group of investors all around the world.
As long have long term stable dividend yield which can cover your cost, then the balance we just wait for continuing development. If AA is a failure, today it wont be our talking topic. It is well recognised in the regions and become one of the success story in the world.

To be frank, brent oil price maintained at USD60-70 per barrel is healthy to global economy. Sometime you cannot just wanting Extreme Low oil price while the O&G contribute quite significant to the global economy and purchase power. If no one spent, then is bad to Airlines as well.
Anyhow, hope it maintain above RM2.90 level, otherwise got downward trend correction risk.
