For the period 1 January 2022 - 30 June 2022, there was an additional fuel and other generation costs amounting to RM7.0 billion that translates to an ICPT surcharge of 11.81 sen/kWh. This is due to the increase in global fuel price - coal that soar to USD265/MT as compared to USD79/MT set in the base tariff for Regulatory Period 3. Among the reasons for the increase in coal price was due to the ongoing global crisis and world coal supply constraints.
 Due to the additional fuel and generation costs for period 1 January 2022 – 30 June 2022, Government has allocated RM2.3 billion to cover the costs. Apart from that, Government has also allocated a total of RM3.5 billion to ensure that the current ICPT surcharge is maintained for all non - domestic customers such as commercial and industrial rather than being charged the full surcharge at 11.81 sen/kWh. This brings the total amount of rebates and ICPT surcharge costs borne by the Government to RM5.8 billion.

Yes oil price increase more revenue but the number of subsidised items seems also increased which I don't think in total there is enough.It may then force some other units to temporarily take up some losses. I don't think the coal and oil will go down anytime soon, easily it will take more than 5years.

It will take easily another 6years for the war to end. Coal will not be cheap in short term.

Hibiscus petroleum... they are Upstream player.. so their profit are pretty much directly reflecting to the oil price.

If you want the cheaper one's. I think Nissan have one model. But it is made using the Nickel cadmium battery.The battery is pretty similar to those used at the forklift or Aerial platforms.
The idea is, if you want to use EV, you must have patient on recharging on frequent basic + shorter driving range.
Unless you get an expensive one, then maybe the hassle will be minimised.

The technology of the EV is pretty much a mix combination of large arrays of lithium batteries surrounded by cooling system and driven by Invertor drives.
