YTL got a small issue... internally they do not value true talent. The office politic is very heavy. Play lots of shoe shining game. Francis move of giving company shares to emplyee is a good start to fix that problem. I still think he is a capable captain. Tok bad we are in recession now. It would be great to see how he sail his company in this storm.

a re-cap of my analysis on KAREX:
Failed due to over confident, over development and lack of back up plans.
1. CEO MKGoh too arrogant and too over confident to admit his mistakes.
2. Over developement. While their own brand haven't mature, they wanted to do automation. Haven't secure the sales, they want mass produce. This is not between chicken and egg, it is about supply and demand. How can you supply without demand?
3. Fail to compete with China in the generic market.
4. Targeted the wrong international market: Singapore: The gomen wants their people to make babies! USA: who the heck you are?! your brand haven't mature you wanna hit the US market with that?! Thailand is the only right decision so far, but one right doesn't cover every wrong decision.
5. Bad R&D strategy. Printing new packaging design and new flavour is not a industry disruptive R&D, it's a waste money strategy!

My verdict: buy only after MKGoh resign or pray that God Buddha Allah heal his brain.

hard to say, sap got very good record of discovering oil. Tun M need it if oil price going up trend in long term. He won't let it simply die.
