For the fourth quarter (4QFY22), the group posted a 2.43% drop in net profit to RM86.22 million, from RM88.36 million a year earlier, due to a decline in revenue and higher provision of deferred taxation.

Earnings per share for the quarter slipped to 2.33 sen from 2.64 sen previously, Inari’s filing showed.

Quarterly revenue fell 6.96% to RM336.18 million from RM361.32 million, as raw material supply constraints led to lower loading volume in its optoelectronics and generic business segments.

The semiconductor sector continues to be favoured by analysts, especially the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (Osat) providers.

The Osat companies have got it going with a strong sales pipeline and earnings growth prospect, anchored by their expansion roadmap and robust balance sheet, said TA Securities Research in its latest report.

“We also expect them to continue benefiting from the global structural growth in chip demand, alongside the ongoing acceleration in digitalisation and proliferation of secular technology trends like 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of Things, robotics and vehicle electrification,” it said.

It maintained its “overweight” stance on the technology sector.

Elon Musk is considering a hiring freeze and job cuts of up to 10% of staff at Tesla because he has a “super bad feeling” about the state of the economy, according to an internal email seen by Reuters.

It is still a good buy... esp low price now..

It is a good bet on this news if it happens:
Sime Darby Holdings Bhd (SDH) announced that SDH and Ramsay Health
Care Ltd (Ramsay) have received RM5.67bn (or USD1.35bn) conditional,
non-binding buyout offer from IHH Healthcare Bhd to acquire 100% of their
50:50 joint venture Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Sdn Bhd (RSDH).
Analyst is POSITIVE on the deal as it enables the Group to
monetize its non-core assets, with the proceeds may be partly used to pay for
SPECIAL DIVIDEND.

Even if this deal doesn't materialize, Analyst expects Sime Darby to ride through the wave and sustain earnings into FY23. Demand for new cars (2.5-3 months backlog) and industrial equipment (RM3.9bn orderbook) remain ELEVATED.

Also GOOD dividend yield of almost 6.0%! And also capital upside!

Good to collect when price is Low...

"We are going to make some major announcements in the next few days in terms of the total new investments that have been committed by these companies," he told Bernama and TV3 reporters here, Tuesday.

Thus far, Azmin had met several high-technology (hi-tech) companies such global semiconductor company Texas Instruments Inc. and global materials supplier to the electronics assembly and semiconductor packaging industries Indium Corporation, and he is scheduled to engage with more hi-tech industry players on his next visits to San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles.
