in my opinion, there's 2 ways to look at buying during a dump:
1. catching the falling knife (looking for a potential technical rebound and quickly sell off)
2. the fall in price matched with investors' budget and they decided to increase their exposure in the stock

If you are investing for long term, becareful of your thoughts to catch a rebound, that's already beyond your initial research. Play it long, play it safe.

@cerubic I'm very intrigued with the AGM discussions, will be better prepared next year and most likely take a half day leave to attend.

@mini too bad cheap is subjective. If you ask me, it was cheap since rm3.8. But EPF would beg to differ, and I am the smaller fish compare to them, so what can I do? Watch and learn. Not selling at this price, I'd rather take my share certs and throw into the sea for entertainment's sake.

@bang_miskin yeah im glad that i did not have extra money when it was 3.8 & 2.8, both look so attractive at that time. But if we ever see 1.2, there won't be a risk of another 60% fall at that price....

@khatu This may not be the lowest point and no one knows where is it. Rebound may not come soon. Don't hold your breath. If you're holding your breath waiting for Harta to rebound, you may want to consider releasing some of it so that it's not so difficult to bear.

Not just courage khatu, patience too. Just got to wait out the turbulence if you believe in your research. But don't do nothing while waiting, do continue to keep track and be as objective as possible, set metrics and benchmarks for review to prevent biasness. The recent quarter results was fine for me, thought it is stabilising, but guess its not good enough for EPF. Let's see what happens next, ready bullets for when TG qr out.

@terence775 @bang_miskin I thought the revenue drop was sort of expected since they can't sell into US which means they are mainly competing with China suppliers directly. I assumed the higher net profit is that they figured a way to cut cost to survive this turbulence, which is pretty good. I wouldn't mind Harta's revenue going down for the time being in order to bring back better net profit. It is really not the time to go for high volume with the current supply demand dynamics.

@matklse, really triggered my curiousity what is this manouver by EPF about. I have so many questions.
If EPF has no ill intention and this is not harta's fair value, they should try to recover at a much better price:
- Did EPF tried negotiating with the owner? Is that why the company is passing a sbb resolution?
- Did EPF tried negotiating with other IBs? Does no one want to buy Harta in large volume despite pricing it at average price of say ~RM2?

If EPF has no ill intention, but the fair value of Harta is this low, what is it that the open market is not seeing? As much as they have dumped, retailers have picked up, are we all going to lose money while the Kuans and EPF keep quiet?

So many information gaps, don't know why EPF did this. Is it to go below 5% urgently so they can transact with another party in private placement? Does the new buyer dont want to be known?

Educated myself more on the China Taiwan tension, bang_miskin is probably right. US sent 5 more congress members to Taiwan and China responded with more drills. I think China is focusing on their property debt issue more now than actually getting Taiwan. Nevertheless, I personally don't think China will last long in throwing glove price down, let's see.

100mil units changed hands in the morning but no 10% drop. We may have found the floor (or at least very close to it). Either EPF stopped dumping or the 1.6 range is the first solid support.

@Cerubic, I share the same sentiment as bang_miskin, we have been whacked so many times that we really question where is the bottom. Every calculations and past trends can be thrown out of the window, it just doesnt make sense for Harta to be trading at this price with the latest financials that were just announced coupled with how the company has been run successfully in the past.

We're trading at ~16PE and merely 20sens above NAPS. Soon it will be cheaper to just close shop and realise the NAPS rather than continue business. Yeah, we may have seen one of the lowest EPS in 10 years, but to judge that the company will die and whack down the share price, that is just absurd.

If Harta is going to use SBB to acquire the remaining 200mil units from EPF, then I hope the share reaches RM1 or lower for the time being to reduce the sbb cost. I don't mind suffering a bit more short term for a better long term result.

EPF has another 220m units to throw as per today's disclosure. They cease being shareholder when they hold below 170m units, guess they are still holding above 170m units. Wonder how many they sold on 12, 15, and 16 Aug.
