Rule of thumb: when a research company says sell, it might mean they want to buy it low!

So CIMB has been downgrading & talking down AFFIN over the past 2 years, but now suddenly they say its a good bargain? They must have finished buying it.

Congrats for the rebound. Now that you bought the stock, I suggest you shut the screen and go get busy with something else. Watch out for that message from the bank that says dividends have been deposited. Twice a month come check what's going on with the price, but then leave. Affin has started a long term steady climb back to above 3. Just forget you have it for a year or so.

I have said before that Affin is a good stock to have and I have been proved right by the latest results. And here I am again saying that it is a good stock to have. The price you see now, you will not see in the near future, unless there is a catastrophe or something. All forecasts for the Malaysian economy for the rest of 2016 and 2017 suggests a recovery and growth, Affin will benefit from now on and the results will keep improving.

Even though brexit dooms days has come and gone, Affin is shining. A clear message that Affin has bottomed out and no more downward tendencies. A clear call for anyone who's been thinking about buying Affin: The ship is about to sail!

Bought Again today.. Brexit results (I think they will be a "remain") will be the last major hurdle in front of oil, Ringgit & Stocks.

I poured more cash into this stock today. I believe in it firmly.

This is normal to drop after dividends. You will get 15 cents, so stock goes down around 15 cents.

We might see a big party next week in the lead up to the ex dividend date. Clearly the stock has been suppressed to scare off hesitant investors, and they actually succeeded. If the stock sky rockets next week, those who hesitated/sold would look like fools.

Kenneth.. 2.90 is very unlikely. I plan to add more if it touches 3.01-04. This is a bargain stock already.

I would be surprised if they pay out dividends. Taking into account the merger costs and need to preserve cash. I believe that the current share price has already priced in a non dividend payout. If a dividend is announced, the price might shoot up. I believe this is the moment of rebound for this stock.

The commencement of operations for the newly formed Affin Hwang Capital only began 22 Sep! 2 months ago. The losses recorded in H1 were understandable. The stock price in my view is oversold. Any positive results of the merger might appear Q3 or H2 but surely will appear next year.

sbzk it is just a rumor. Maybe true or false. The saying goes: there is no smoke without fire. I made my decision based on fundamentals. I am lining up cash to buy more if the price goes down more.
