Results will be out soon. Is it going to be another disappointment? Opinions among funds are varied. But one thing is sure. If the next Quarter result is behind expectations, be prepared for MAS share to sink further. Last August, within 5 days of the release of the result, overhanging shares increased by half a billion, to date the overhanging figure has not recovered. An analyst anticipate a net profit of RM17 millions which is equal to 0.1 of a sen per share. A run up could be overdone if only RM17 mills net profit is achieved.

I don't speculate on whether Tudor has worldwide market. If you want to talk about chocolate, go visit Langkawi or in fact in Singapore, you can see that the world chocolate markets are highly competitive with many reknown swiss and euro brands.

I only looked at how players of each counter accumulate its shares and how fast they disposed it. PMC accumulation todate is not attractive at all.

Bjtoto Business Trust is going to be listed in Singapore soon. After which Berjaya Toto Bhd investment in subsidiary Sport toto Malaysia Sdn bhd will be managed under the trust and in exchanged Berjaya Toto Bhd will control around 80% of the Business Trust unit. Upon the secondary listing in malaysia probably next year, for every 10 shares of Berjaya toto Bhd, shareholders will be distributed 21 units trust, which have a yield of 8%, hopefully an 8% dividend as business trust normally distribute all of its earnings. Of course your existing shares in Berjaya toto will be adjusted downwards by the market forces. According to the Berjaya toto bhd management, the company will retained at least 25% stake of the unit trust and have management control over the Business trust. In addition its phillipines gaming units, and investment in several companies including Redtone and a listed motor company in UK and the Philipines and some properties in Berjaya Time square will remained in the company. The unique model of a trust allows the initial promoter of the business to sell down its interest in a subsidiary and yet retained management control over the business. Thereby market driven to realize the full value of its major business.

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has insisted that his government is not “racist at all”, pointing out that it caters to the needs of “small minorities” as well." as told to CNN.

However, even the budget is racist slant.

"If you notice, the Prime Minister announced all kinds of incentives for the Bumiputeras and the Indian community.

And guess what? Hardly any incentives were announced for the Chinese community. Actually, there was nothing.

In fact, the PM even said that he was thanking the Indian community for voting Barisan Nasional in the General Election.

So, by not giving any incentives to the Chinese, he was basically saying, serves you right for pulling that "tsunami" stunt.

Now, how well does that bode with the fact that the PM is supposed to be the PM of all Malaysians?" By Azalee Malaysian Insider

Money politics played a role in ensuring that undeserving candidates emerged winners in the recent Umno party elections, said former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He said he was not convinced that corruption had been eliminated from the recent Umno elections and that money was still being splashed around.

"I think there was a lot of money involved, going into the millions and loads of people who should not be getting votes were getting votes because of the money they spent," he said in Putrajaya this morning.

Dr Mahathir said that such corrupt practices were also carried out in general elections where voters wanted to know what was in it for them for casting their ballots.

“Initially, we were very nationalistic and thought of the country first. The first few general elections were not so much affected by corruption. But the country has come to a stage where corruption is accepted as part of our way of life and culture,” he said.

“Selling votes became a culture, and it is no longer about the country’s progress. When it gets to that stage, corruption is general and rampant.”

He said during his time, he had won election, lost election and even won uncontested.

“The most unhappy moment for the people in my constituency was when I won uncontested, because there was then no money to buy them nasi lemak and cigarettes.

“That was because it was a done deal. If there was a contest, the candidates of course would be willing to fork out money to gain support,” he added.

Mahathir also lamented that the country’s future would get worse with corruption but suggested that one way to curb the practice in government would be to reduce the period required for government approvals for projects and contracts.

“Yes, you must punish those found guilty (of corruption), but we must also make sure that all government projects are implemented according to procedures and within the shortest timeframe possible. – October 28, 2013.

Fortunebull, that's not the way.The computer shop will quote you the price without GST. Just like you eat in a restaurant, price quoted not including government service tax and internal service charge. The computer shop and restaurant will collect on behalf of the government and they are not bothered whether how much you pay GST. Unless you throw in the carrot, negotiate to pay him in cash plus perhaps cash payment of a fraction of the GST. At the end its a win win situation for both sides.

"One can hope that he can come out of the shadow of trying to please and point to a path for inclusive development for all Malaysians." quoted from Bridget Welsh

With the way Utusex has been stirring up racial sentiments I do not think Najib is aiming for inclusiveness but rather to protect and enhance his position towards the next election. Malay Posturing would be the norm as he tried to consolidate his power for another term. When next election year comes then he will again attempt to sweeten his pre election role with an "all inclusiveness publicity" while fielding the corrupt and the extremist in the election. Just watch!!!!

Will the Malays change? by Zaid Ibrahim

"WHILE discussing national unity at a gathering of Malaysian students in Melbourne last week, I told them that it was in the long-term interest of the Malays – and it was crucial to national unity – that the “Malay/Muslim-first policy” be rejected by the Malays themselves.

The “privileges” ostensibly useful to them are actually a hindrance to their wellbeing. If ethnicity is made the determining factor in the provision of assistance or the award of contracts, well-connected Malays will benefit disproportionately even if they do not merit such assistance.

Less hardworking Malays can also take advantage of the policy by doing very little except to ask for help from the Government. This kind of thinking encourages mediocrity as well as the concentration of capital in a select few, to the detriment of all.

This is why the gap between the rich and the poor in Malaysia has grown larger than in other Asean countries over the past 40 years. It is also why there are still more poor bumiputra households than any other in the country despite years of affirmative action."

The proposed goods and services tax (GST) will tax those who can’t afford to be taxed, i.e. 60% of Malaysians who are eligible for BR1M. These are the people who will soon be taxed by the regressive tax, together with the rest of us who live and stay in this country.

According to people in BJtoto, upon secondary listing in KLSE that BJtoto will distribute the business trust units so that it will appear in your CDS accounts. In the mean time 80% of the units will be retained by BJtoto and hopefully dividends will still be ongoing via BJtoto on listing in Singapore till distribution to shareholders.

Dun be a fool, GST will hit the poor and middle income hardest. At the moment we have the sales and service tax on manufacturing products and services at 10% and 6% respectively. Of course based on the current system, backyard industries and small service shops do not normally register and pay the current indirect taxes. So to increase the revenue via GST to replace the current system and collect more revenue the scope of goods and services must be enlarged and the % must be more than the existing ones. At the moment and after many years of implementing GST, Singaporean have even to pay GST on disposal of commercial land and buildings. Your supermarket bills will increase by the same % except for a narrow range of essentials and compounded with impending subsidy withdrawal the % will double and triple. You deserved the government that you have chosen.
