Talking to a friend who works at Proton. Next year in April, the new C-segment SUV going to start production. They have plans to upgrade current Saga, Persona & Iriz and introducing a B-segment SUV to compete with HRV. Sales of felts in Malaysia looks very promising in 2019 & beyond.

Agree with qqq3, positive effects of log ban will only be seen in 2nd half. I had averaged down my price & added at 1.01, afrer log ban was announced.. Hoping to go up to 1.76.

With herbs maturing, expansion plans to US & Europe, incresing sales from current markets, possibility of gaing to main board in the future.....looks good.

This is where you are wrong. Go for the AGM and ask about the technology transfer/royalty fee that Proton need to pay Geely. They only own half of Proton.....give technology for free izzit? The Chinese not supid like you.

Trade with caution. Most important is how profitable will DRB be? The Boyue production plan is only 2,000 units per month. How much can 2,000 units help the bottom line? What is the technology transfer/royalty fee per unit that Proton will have to pay Geely? How much is left behind for DRB? How successful will a RM100k Proton branded Boyue be?

With 3rd national car, what restrictions, if any, will be placed to 1st & 2nd national car? Will there be R&D reimbursements for P1 or only for P3?

These are the questions need to be answered. Than we can predict how Proton will impact DRB share price.

I know how fast technology is evolving, not only in cars but in every sector.... you seem to think that only Geely has the advance technology, like I said earlier, I am not impressed with Geely's NVH ...if TM JV/rebadge with Suzuki....I think.Suzuki is.also updated with technology.

I never said I was interested or agree with a 3rd national car or in love with outdated turbo engine. All I said was 3rd national car coming and won"t be good for DRB's Proton.

I have ridden in Geely models in China. What makes you think they are so great? The NVH, noise, vibration and harshness, at speeds over 90+ km/hr is horrible.

Sunny day, please do some reading before commenting. Firstly, engine was developed with Mitsubishi, not Mashushita, and Proton rebadged Mitsubishi car for the initial model.

In 2004, Proton developed their own engine with their subsidiary, Lotus, the Campro. Later the engine was upgraded to IAFM, than CPS, than CFE Turbo engines (currently used in Exora and Preve) and finally they came up with the VVT engines that you find in the current models of Saga, Iriz & Persona. Ertiga is rebadge of Suzuki amd Perdana uses Honda previous generation platform and engine.

Talking about Suzuki, this is where I think the 3rd national car will come in. I am speculating here. When TM was Chairman of Proton, they signed a deal where Proton will rebadge Suzuki cars. Starting with Ertiga, their SUV was suppose to be next and a few sedan cars was to follow. Suzuki pulled out of the Malaysian market and their dealers converted to Proton dealers. Than TM was.kicked out by Najib and a deal.was signed with China Geely. To me, what a coincidence, when TM went to Japan, TM announced 3rd national car. Makes me think he owes a favor to Suzuki and I wouldn't be surprise if the 3rd national car would be a JV with Suzuki.

With the earlier announcement in March, going forward total sales will be 1.5 million per month with Proton. With Perodua say another 1.5 million per month. Total about 3 million per month or 9 million per quarter. Company will still be running at a loss at this sales level.

105 million over 9 years = less than 1 million a month. Proton got cash flow issue not paying supplier on time. Is this a good deal?
