I was not referring to the ever troubled air line.Billions have been pour into the company with nothing to show for. What I was referring to was the inference of the phrase 'new republican president'. I know it is in the context of a light hearted banter, but other more sensitive individual may not take it in that context.Like your banter though.

You flatter me KC. NO. They could be most crucial . Like fine prints in legal matters in the contracts and such. The fine prints could influence the decision making. Leave out the fine prints at your peril. But then they could be mundane stuff. This is where our work ethics come into play. Now if you tap dance to 'work 'every day then you don't have the problem.More mortals do not tap dance to work. They drag their feet to work lah. Funny.

Real envious lah.I am still learning to tap lah. h\Have still to perfect my steps and movement.Mis steps. Some times I forget I have two left feet lah.One left foot is discipline and the other left is not getting into nitty gritty details, in other words being lazy. Have a nice what is left of Sunday.

Yes tonylim, that and the cash is worth a 1:1 bonus issue lah. But that does not mean a thing, only for the opportunity to goreng the stock.Orietal is the same, but tons better. I thought it could wait while I park my money elsewhere. That was when it was 4rm!!!My brother said it is a dead horse and sold it. The bull was raging and I was distracted eslewhere. Never got back. But my returns were good. That evens things out. Will wait.Thinking the cash itself was rm4 per share and the share was linguishing around 4rm + . The only thing that was negative then was the business side when it lost its franchise of Honda. There are other assets like land etc.Waiting.

I agree with kkchong. The revenue was flatish last 3 yrs. Before that , there were yrly increment with new installation of machines and new product lines and more oversea export. But last 3 yrs the comp. was abit flat with revenue not increasing with new competitions, Julie and the like. but the yr end 2012 , the revenue pick up about 12% without additional operating expenses.Current asset, cash same old 56m, current liabilities same old , no debts.EPS 27 up 20ish percent. So it is getting interesting. What is attractive about Apollo is the Div.9 %.Revenue picking up slightly 1qrt 2013.Could be interesting to keep track. Just my 1 sen worth.

Morning kkchong and all, Dont you sleep? How many hours is Auckland ahead of us? Buying properties in Queenstown? Is that in Hobbit land?If it is then is nice for visit. To reside , air is too fresh and cold for me lah.
Seriously , can you enlighten me with this ' sell of strength and buy on weakness' I understand the buy low and sell higher stuff but not sell on strength and buy on weakness thing. Strength and weakness of what? Volume , pricing? Definately not Balance sheet. That would be disastrous . Pardon my ignorance.Thanks.

Yes you are right kkchong. The value of the com. is different from the price of its share in the market.Value of the com. varies according to its performance . The price of it share fluctuate according to the whim of the market. When I first look at KFima it was around 80sen.The business was doing ok and their P&L and balance sheet were healthy. No debts. I thought there was some hidden downfall to the share. But as the a/cs improve further I threw caution to the wind and went in.That was about 2 yrs ago.See what I mean when I mention I hate to lose money. There is a down side to the caution nature and that is others would have taken the oppurtunities and you have to buy at a higher price. Better safe than sorry.
I try to follow his way but it is very difficult as we don't know he does it. He has not divulge on how he does it. He has to protect his padi fields . And we have to protect our rice bowls. Ha.Don't have is IQ. Don't have his discipline .Even if the value of Fima is 320 sen. I would not sell it. Mentioned the price I am willing to sell. But if the if the financial to Fima deteriorate , then I have to re assess it. Another counter similar to Fima , is Oriental. But nobody wants it because it is too slow . One could imagine your I rm doing better elsewhere. That is value. But not so to most of the people. Now the Japanese is mopping the share up.

Spot on gark! I also like the simple and commonsense of looking at a company,eg moat, cash and near cash, net asset and the such. But the items in the P&L and Balance Sheet give you hints about the company's performance also eg. the items in the current asset [inventory, receiveable , ]. Current liabilities[ payables, short term borrowings]and LOng term debts.I am talking about boring micro stuffhere. No ratio here.About K Fima ,There is moat in some of their businesses, that does not involve in the capital expenditure type.
Graham got the last puffs out of the companies. Buffet do more than that.Eg See Candy, he and his side kick ,Munger bought the company in 1972 after seeing the potential of See, a well run money making company and a mini ATM machine, left it exactly where he had found it.What he did was nationalise it as it is a local Califonia com. Now there are more than 200 store nationwide with 200 more ATM machine.
Value is very subjective and I don't have a TP and I don't know what a TP is. I leave it to the professional. Part of their job is churning out TPs. But I do know that if Mr Market offer Rm4 to buy KFima Now, I would willingly sell it to Mr Market and kept 1 lot for old time sake. This is the long term stable.
So kkchong , I do not subscribe to the standard way of investing.Back to Fima, Cash = rm 1 , Fima C. = rm 1+/share.If we liquidate the com. Just that is worth 2+ RM . Go figure at 1.80RM now!!!The only thing that I notice is that there is an increment of inventories and receivable, but nothing the com. cannot coup with. Now if you do a bit of flutter , like most of us do then you view it differently.

Wow!!! Phew!! The content of this thread is becoming heavy and serious!! Intellectually stimulating. All those who want to learn or at least be in touch with the finer art of investing should tune into this thread if the current vein of discussion and dissemination of info persist.I am taking it all in, from the feather weight to heavy weight divisions.Very refreshing. Most of us appreciate the'fundamental' approach to investing. The purist in TA not too much as I personally heard a TA purist saying that you can make money in any stock , ignoring the Fundamentals.Consistently?
Back to this thread. It very much depends on your objectives in putting your ringgit in a stock. What do you want out of that ringgit? Then you devise your strategy to achieve that goal. We, kkchong,NZ,KCLoh and others agree that KFima is a fundamental sound company and undervalued in KLSE.No disagreement there. But the ultimate decision whether to put / park your ringgit depend on your objectives. What do you want from your ringgit. What is your expectation from your ringgit in term of YIELD. Weakly, monthly annually? I won't mention names but there some sauvy investors here. If you are a confident in what you are doing then what others do and all the calls of buy and sell do not effect you decision making. If you are not losing money and making some gains at the end of the year then why change your strategy just because somebody else is making more .You do not want to emulate investors/punters because he is he and you are you. I tweak my approach to try to improve my yield but would not change on my basics. This is the good place exchange info for mutual benefit.I really appreciate contributors who unselfishly give info in this forum. It is how you use the info that matter most. We all know who the real contributors are. Thanks you fellows.

Hustle, are you sure that most of us in this forum currently are investors ? Not too convincing as some of the things written here resembles night market banter. Todays contents are good. That is how it should be. Facts that can be added to our collected pool of knowledge that is happening in and around the company , in this case K Fima.As kkchong mentioned , we should not be too obsess with slight variance in the qtlys results of a very well managed company. If it is a hugh variance then one wants to know why such variance occurs. Is it one off etc. One of the advantages of investing in a well managed company is that you will have every confidence in the management to deal with the problems. And we all have a good night sleep knowing our investment is in good hands. That obsession should be reserve for border line companies. But then investors do not put their money in such companies. But there are others who like to flutter on the side to relieve the boredom . That is a different story all together.Have a nice weekend gentleman ... and ladies ifs any are reading this .

I agree with your strategy absolutely . Trading is risky and much more difficult even for a seasoned player. As carries stated, safer to investing than trade. Main thing is not to have the attitude, like many people who are involve in the market, fantasizing making loads of money in the shortest possible time. In reality one should try not to lose money. That is the first rule and subsequent rules.Capital should be intact , as opportunities will arise in various forms. Also as carries mentioned, deal with fundamentally good stocks.More achievable to increase your fund gradually than to take risk in order to score big.

I quite agree with kcchongnz. The fundamentals has always been decent even back when it share price was around 80sen and I was wondering what the catch
was then.It has grown since and got rid of some loss making sub. With a cash pile like that , the result of not paying obscene amount in dividends , it is waiting for an opportunity to utilize the cash. Good conservative management.
