why the factory photo from the website so unreal one? The website show some product photos but no further info about the products? instead, the site shows detail info that investors would want to see...hhmm... Is the company making $ from customers or investors?

beware of the Net Asset Per Share thing. If a company is in losing money trend while still "going concern", you will be shocked that before next quarter report, Net Asset Per Share could drop significantly...

I guess the premium paid is for the "chances" it will go below 1425 at maturity and the "chances" will change everyday...

Theoretically, the price of rm0.465 can be fully reflected if KLCI is at 1425, based on the formula 0.465 = (1735 - x)/666.

I believe and maybe wishfully think that it is not a manipulation, but as I said earlier might be "ethically obliged to issue an alert/warning in his best effort when the story is no longer valid. A mere disclaimer in the report may not be sufficient..."

I typically don't trust any sell side analysts' reports. I followed the Mudajaya report bulat-bulat and made some losses, but no one to be blamed except my own negligence...

Practically and legally "short" my portfolio at 1800. Anything lower than 1800 will be my "profit", literally I have the "option" to buy back my portfolio at any lower price. The only "risk" that I have will be the "sudden" reverse of trend and overshoot 1800. Unless the market reverse from 15xx to 1800 within minutes, I will always have time to react. Even if I have missed the opportunity, the worse scenario will be I ended with cash for 4% annual return.

The main culprit that will bring down HK is the property market. For the past decades, HK people only focus on playing in the property market and did nothing else!!! HK has nothing else except the English common law and the property market to support their economy!!! Once China "cold storage" HK, the prop market will crash like hell. That's why Lee Ka Sheng is moving out to play safe, MNCs are moving their regional office to SG or Shanghai...sad...

Thanks for all these intriguing discussions. I noticed that most of the taiko here are using the formula to "counter check" their stock-picks, rather than use it as screening tools to mine the undervalued stocks. I believe it is due to the unavailability of a screener based on magic formula for all KLSE counters. Perhaps it is rather impossible for one to calculate the EY, ROIC for all counters manually... Greenblatt's book has outlined a trading "procedure" for value investors to systematically manage and rebalance their portfolios in order to make profit in the long run (12m period)....

what will be the GST impact to retailers? Padini is a good co, but something I wonder why Padini price their product so high. With that level of pricing, customers are considering H&M, Uniqlo, Zara or even Giordano etc?

Thank you very much for sharing. Greenblatt's book provides another "alternative" or workaround to his magic formula. This is mainly because a lot of screeners do not provide the ratios required by the original magic formula. The alternative formula uses ROA>25% as filter and rank the result descending with lowest P/E. Do you think it will produce similar effect and most importantly, similar performance with the original magic formula?
