The second quarter was expected to be bad. Because of:

“VGM operations and food and beverage service at Monticello Raceway ceased on April 23, 2019. The most important takeaway from the report is that the company is not that badly hurt by the higher Casino Duty and hence the value will recover over time.

What I am sure of is that the company was able to grow out of higher taxes. Or was not impacted much by higher taxes. Either possibility is good.

Management attributed the good quarter due to 'higher win rate' or 'luck factor'. Don't have to be a genius to know that luck, played out over thousands and thousands of hands is dissipated. The variance over a large quantity of sample size becomes insignificant.
