duit ... trend is your friend until it ends !! if a trader is a trend follower, there isn't any good setup now ... as mentioned before better to wait for a legit trend reversal, then either buy on pullback or breakout yes ?? however, if u are investing based on its fair value and what nots, then by all means go ahead ... collecting low will give u explosive RR !! then again, one has to be very clear which STYLE is one adopting yes ??

Huat to all!! Conniejie, 2 years ago I only look FA. Since last year I implement a new set of rules akd prinicipal to wait for confirmation of uptrend to sailang... hahaha... I learn from Rchikor to sailang very much especially most ppl fearful.

alex ... perhaps we should ponder these points given by a seasoned trader :-
1) first of all we must choose a trading STYLE
2) once we have identified our style, then select one or two STRATEGIES to trade that style (note there are thousand and one strategies per style; so we gotta pick one that makes sense to us) ... give time to prove that your selected strategy works ... do not jump from one strategy to another ... keep the strategy simple and avoid over-crowded charts with too many indicators !
3) trade from DAILY chart
i am just like u (not quick-handed as u put it) .. i like to take my own sweet time analyse things and thus daily time frame is perfect ... more time to decide and less emotional involvement
4) don't CHASE HIGH
when price is overextended, it tends to pull back to its mean aka the concept of mean reversion ... strong trend is the 20EMA but for very strong trend (parabolic) u may use 10EMA
5) don't OVER-trade
trading the daily charts, we probably have 4 to 6 good setups which is ideal to prevent us from over-trading
6) POSITION SIZING
always always do your position sizing right and don't risk more than 1% of your account balance
7) TRADE MANAGEMENT
learn how to manage a trade effectively ... eg do i move my stop loss at all ? and if i do, then when shud i move ? when price has moved 30% in my favour ? how shud i trail my profits ? previous candle low or break of trendline or MA crossing ?

** note if trading warrants is too stressful, then forget about it ... focus on the MOTHER at all times **

thanks so much abangadik .. will definitely check out this book !! easy to set rules for entry but rather hard to manage a trade once entered ... the key factor to succeed in trading is to excel in TRADE MANAGEMENT ... cud have trailed eforce based on previous candle low but since price is so close to major resistance level have decided to take profits off the table ... now left AH JAKS to trail :)

BTW.. Conjie.. I got one book to recommend you. Principles by Ray Dalio of Bridgewater. He has a very awesome set of rules to make good decision. Very useful for traders as well.

but i think for rchi .. he does not need to look at the lower TF charts !! based on experience how syndicates play and he stresses on stuff like volume .. i don't know how to analyse like him :( sob sob sob

i guess abangadik uses monthly to form his bias be it long term bullish or bearish ... but his trading time-frame is daily :)

ya those parabolic moves like drb and fgv yesterday, u must trade from 15min charts .. else u only see ONE big green candle on 1H / daily !! and so don't know how the fight between the bulls and bears :(

there are times when can't see much on daily so drill down to 1H for some short-term feel ... if 1H also cannot see anything then i can't be bothered with any lower time-frame ... which means don't look at the counter until things are clearer on the 1H at the very least !!

asa ... i look at weekly, daily and 1H !!!

chinaman in hengyuan or not ??? recently the red bars are getting more aggressive on lower time frame and price is becoming more volatile ... if the bearish flag pattern is confirmed on 1H chart, then may have more short-term downside ?? first target shall be the length of the flag pole !! but this does NOT mean the underlying trend has changed on higher time frame till we see confirmed break of structure
