What's the ROI for KLIA Express? Was it super profitable to YTL?

What will be the ROI for the investor in this RM100bil project? What kind of ridership and at what ticket price would provide a positive ROI?

Maybank recommend sell - is it because they give up trying to recover their debt and just want SE to die?

During the oil price slump couple of years back...many could have opted the "burndown" design philosophy in their brown field upgrades or new plant. Probably with minimal or no insurance coverage?

So I doubt they learn from mistakes or invest in contingencies...maximize profitability is what they will go for. Expect more of this kind of costly breakdown or worst blow-up especially from the bottom end players in the industry.

I am not surprise break down such as this happen...that's the price you pay when you always go for the cheapest price equipment and systems.

However, I suspect the transformer failure is unlikely caused by over loading / over current situation - could be a case of the failure of the transformer dielectric oil / material due to maintenance oversight? In which case repair should be shorter than 6 months.

If sub-sea repair work is involve, 6 months down time is reasonable

There is no guarantee after the transformer is fixed other components both (mechanical and electrical) in the system would function normally. What if some of the sub-sea components like the pump won't function or cables open/short circuited or pipe leak etc?

If HSR is going to be built, might as well include the fiber optics, new power distribution cables, 5G network towers along the lines.

It is not difficult for Singapore to switch to full BEV policy (Zero Emissions) because its power distribution cables are all underground / under the highways / road with pre-constructed tunnels, channels etc...just a matter of adding more cables for the extra power need. So every parking bay in HDB, Condo, hotel, malls etc. can have a charging point.

Singapore would need to double its power supply if it wants to switch to BEV and YTL seem already involved in the supply and installation of the BEV charging points there and Power Seraya supplying the needed power.

YTL seems to have positions nicely to take advantage of all the future's infrastructure needs

The US & UK has long been abusing fair international trade with their entitlement attitude. They have long never produce significant surpluses or surpluses in significant real beneficial goods and services that the world needs. The biggest export of these 2 countries which they forced it on to the world to pay for are highly inflated weapons, military (world security?), cultural entertainment goods and services. The world really don't need these kind of product and services.
