mRNA vaccines have efficacy of over 90% (Pfizer-BioNTech 94%, Moderna 95%). They are groundbreaking technology. Note Moderna's vaccine was designed in 2 days once the covid-19 genetic sequence was published.

Pfizer-BioNTech has stated that it will take six week for them to get a vaccine for the new variant out (note that the current mRNA vaccines produce antibodies to a level that will still confer protection against the South Africa variant). The mRNA vaccines have now been given in the tens and soon hundreds of millions of doses (US alone over 30 million and over 1.3 mil per day and rising). New cases are from the factories and construction sites. Do screening for entire sector. Those found with positive cases to be fined. Then total lockdown the whole manufacturing and construction for minimum 2 weeks and retest every worker before they are allowed back into the factories. If you want to stop infections, you must of course go to the very source. Containing the secondary infection or close contacts is not enough and will never work and the problem will keep re-occurring

Now we can see that Selangor alone has 3k++ cases, and majority are workplace cases...doesn't take a genius to know that it is due to the Manufacturing sector and factories....

The solution is simple - total lockdown the direct cause which is the Manufacturing sector in Selangor, after all the sector only makes up 23.5% of GDP (3Q20) and is filled with low-value added foreign manual labour

Why should the other sectors for example such as Services - 57% (Finance, Insurance etc), Mining & Quarry - 6.2% (petroleum) suffer when it is the fault of others...

Novavax says COVID-19 vaccine is 89.3% effective in UK trial, less in South Africa

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Novavax Inc said on Thursday its coronavirus vaccine was 89.3% effective in preventing COVID-19 in a trial conducted in the United Kingdom, and was nearly as effective in protecting against the more highly contagious variant first discovered in the UK, according to a preliminary analysis.

A mid-stage trial of the vaccine in South Africa, where a potent variant of the virus is common, showed 60% effectiveness among people who did not have HIV.

Novavax shares rose 20% in after hours trading following the report, which comes on the day the United States reported its first cases of the South African variant.

Novavax said the UK trial, which enrolled 15,000 people aged 18 to 84, is expected to be used to apply for regulatory review in Britain, the European Union and other countries. Some 27% of people in the trial are over age 65.

The study took place as the more highly transmissible UK variant was circulating, and the preliminary analysis suggests the vaccine was 85.6% effective against this mutation, the U.S. company announced in a news release. It did not provide the study data.

Pfizer vaccine only slightly less effective against key South African mutations - study



(Reuters) - Pfizer Inc and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine appeared to lose only a small bit of effectiveness against an engineered virus with three key mutations from the new coronavirus variant found in South Africa, according to a laboratory study conducted by the U.S. drugmaker.

Topglove on the other hand has making insane profits from the pandemic, whilst having documented labour rights abuses, blatant disregard to the community's health, covering up it's wrong doings (a few to 2k to 5k covid cases ring a bell), then spending billions in share buybacks which could have. even used to improve the living conditions and livelihoods of its employees. If anything the shorts at less than 3% are the minorities. Glove lovers are so blinded by greed they don't even know what's right or wrong

You got to be joking. Gamestop is a company that had been losing money, and then was the target of wallstreet hedge fund shorts all the way to bankruptcy. It is literally the David vs Goliath. Your everyday man is taking the fight to wallstreet.
