Don't you think the MOT has been too quick to delve and talk publicly about digitising the road tax disc?.That when the process has not been tested on pilot run basis, and to evaluate all the shortcomings and ensuing problems arising from the ground.Creating unnecessary adverse market response to company that was awarded the concession to manage the road tax renewals(physical). 1.The Minister of Transport should be more careful when making public statement on RTD's new policy measure when they are not ready to roll-out yet. They have not conducted and tested the digital system on the trial basis to measure whether the digital system is up to the mark, robust to cater to heavy traffic flows, and examine whatever adverse implications arising. That has to be done yet.In addition any changes from physical road tax disc to digital format requires the amendment to the Section 20,Road Transport Act to be made. Only with the amendment gazetted such trail basis can be extended to all private vehicle ownership .Otherwise it goes against the existing RTD act.
2.Seemed the MOT likes to hog the limelight in the press and received all the publicity without waiting until the system is really properly tested, and then ready to be rolled-out to avoid unnecessary glitches and inconvenience to the public and private vehicle owners.
3.Seemed like such impromptu announcement just days before the Parliament is convened this week seemed to be improperly timed.
4.Read the recent press statement by the erstwhile IGP Musa Hassan that cautioned the MOT on the roll-out of the digital road tax system when inter-agency & transboundary co-ordination has not been discussed and firmed up yet.

Axiata, RHB Bank to jointly bid for digital bank licence — sources
SINGAPORE (May 31): Malaysian telco Axiata Group Bhd has teamed up with RHB Bank Bhd to apply for a digital bank licence, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday.

The sources declined to be identified as they were not authorised to speak to the media.

Malaysia's central bank has called for digital bank applications by June 30 and said it may issue up to five licences for online-only banks.

Across Asia, regulators are opening up banking for digital players, encouraged by a boom in mobile connectivity and the prospect of tech firms offering low-cost financial services. The Covid-19 pandemic has increased the need for digital transactions.

Axiata declined to comment on the digital bank application with RHB but said in an email it would hold a news conference with the bank on Wednesday "on significant partnerships that will expand collaborations between both parties."

RHB had no immediate comment.

@The Market very simple if the Covid-19 test instrument is so practicable and portable it will have catch the close attention of MOH and used by all countries. Last year there were many similar products coming out from South Korea on such test kits for virus and pathogens that caused Covid-19 but after the initial hoopla everything quiet and dies down. Even with the drop in today price to RM 1.43 the stock is still overpriced. What basic fundamentals to support such a rich valuation?. What a very poor performance for the last quarter which was out this evening. Going to shatter a thousand dreams and break many rice bowls of the investors hoping for sudden great and instant fortune. Just tell me frankly a company wth paid up capital of aboutt RM 204 million can only achieve stagnant revenue flows at about RM 4.564 million and PBT and PAT of only 49,,000. EPS a miserable lowly figure of 0.12 cents. Too many gullible investors of this counter akin to blind following the blind. At the present price is very very very much overpriced and overvalued. Really finds it preposterous - MOU that was just signed with the Sabah gvt to procure Sinopharma vaccine from China can garner market's interest on the stock.
A2.That when the company is doing and manufacturing bamboo floor tilings? And for first QR 2021 making hefty losses of RM 22.541 millions. Paid up capital 247million and NTA just 0.106 cents. Weak financials fundamental.
A3.Also when the Federal Gvt has just announced that the country will be receiving more than 16 millions dosses of vaccines by July 2021 and can translate into 150,000 jabs for citizens per day.

Quick take: Southern Steel rises 10% on turnaround

KUALA LUMPUR: The market reacted positively to the latest financial results from Southern Steel Bhd and its shares were up over 10% in early trade.

The steel products manufacturer advanced 10.05%, or 9.5 sen to RM1.04 with 1.9 million shares done. It has appreciated some 20.4% so far this year.

In the third quarter ended March 31, Southern Steel posted a net profit of RM40.83mil against a net loss of RM37.58mil in the same quarter last year.

Its revenue rose 4.87% to RRM493.27mil in the quarter ended March 31 from RM470.36mil previously.

In the first nine months to March 31, it posted a net profit of RM23.45mil versus a net loss of RM418.12mil.

However, its revenue for the period was 19.3% lower at RM1.38bil from RM1.71bil previously.

Southern Steel said although there was an improvement in the group’s performance, market conditions remained uncertain due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The group will continue to be responsive to market changes and the board expects to remain profitable in the final quarter of this financial year,” it said.

Last closing price at RM 3.21 is simply illogical and has overshoot its future earnings or underlying fundamentals. Negative EPS,negative ROE,no dividends for several quarters. Like Sedania present price movement which is simply irrational.Hope the regulators will act strongly on such irregular price manipulation as expected. The regulators have to play their mandated duties and obligations well. The investors clearly expect them to enforce the securities market's laws with no fear or favour. Clearly, a pumped and dumped stock counter that will caught many gullible investors badly.

Have written officially to get the notice of the equity market regulator that this "pump and dump" counter has seen its prices being pumped up for no logical and sound reasons. Last year revenues only about RM 8mil but making huge losses of about RM 12 millions more than the revenues accrued. Paid up capital about RM 363million? Forward earnings also not visible. What fundamentals to support the last closing price at RM 1.20? Have perused through the financials, fundamentals and can obtain no evidential facts to support such price. @yiqqre my response. Lately, Unusual Market Activity (UMA) letters were issued to public listed companies by Bursa when their share prices were unrelentingly pumped up to reach ridiculous highs. These include companies mostly mid-size capitalization, poor performing, and weak fundamentals.
After oft similar replies were made to Bursa, their prices will continue to ascend incredulously next to even more new high. The price moves, actions, and patterns recorded over the trading days were noticeably spurious. Investing public needs strong and effective regulators to ensure the equity market is devoid of any pernicious manipulation to safeguard their better interests.

I am very skeptical of such Sputnik V vaccine deal by the so-called parties as announced.Based on the following reasons, viz:
A1. Many parties or companies have made and signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). But how many going by past records have been successful. Out of 1333 MOUs( or what you can called MOC,MOA) only 5 successful; 8 aborted, and the rest in the quagmire(or in short under KIV).
A2. Such similar vaccines' deals also have been signed by many public-listed companies but after several months what good results have they have to show? Or just riding on the hype in lieu of the Covid-19 pandemic spread?
A3. The Russian Direct Investment Fund(RDIF) as named in the MOU when that is out of its founding objective.
Read the extract regarding RFID) here : Russian Direct Investment Fund
The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) is Russia's sovereign wealth fund established in 2011 by the Russian government to make investments in leading companies of high-growth sectors of the Russian economy. Its mandate is to co-invest alongside the world’s largest institutional investors — direct investment funds, sovereign wealth funds and leading companies.
RDIF therefore acts as a catalyst for direct investment in Russia.
A4. What make a big national sovereign fund deal with a sub-par performing company for such deal?
A5. Why the contract manufacturers in China was not named? Why not import the Sputnik V vaccine directly from Russia. Would it not be better outmode? Opines,Russia government would not allow for the vaccine to be contract manufactured in China because they are afraid of losing the intellectual protection rights(IPRs) for the vaccine development.
A5. This company stock price is only hovering within a narrow range of 0.15 cents for several years. With about RM 220 million paid up capital they can only showed about RM 30 million revenues for the last three(3) years. EPS,ROE all in the negatives.NTA only 0.08 cents. No dividends for several years.

Determination : At the last week closing price of 0.355 cents is very much overvalued. Not supported by any sound fundamentals and forward earning potential not visible. The MOUs has been all hyped up. With such facts shared with no prejudice would you put your money into such stock??? Think wisely.Be your own man and makes a smart investing choice. Separate hype(fiction) from market fundamentals so as not to lose your money invested into stocks.

As a number of comments made this low performing company's revenue only comes to RM 10million last year and financials very weak. That when the shares issued were at 303.26 million. This is one clear and good example of "pump and dump" stock which will attract & trap many greedy investors in the market when the "party" stops.
A2.ESOS in the millions issued at only ) 0.128 cents.Just do a simple calculation how much they earned easy money without showing credible profit performance and financials.
A3.Who took up the PP must be disclosed for transparency and good corporate governance.
A4.What visible forward earnings that they can show to the investors?
A5. Can deduce the present stock price has been unrelentingly pumped up for no fundamental and good reasons to support the price. Who profit immensely from such high stock price? Your guess is as good as mine. Time for BURSA and Securities Commission (SC) to act and be seen doing their jobs as regulators.

A2.Afer the UMA letter the said share price irregular moves take place and repeated all over again. What does that tell you as a concerned and value-added investors? Show total disregard to the UMA or whatever supervision and monitoring by the regulators.
A3. That clearly show that the regulators need to act tough, decisive and strong on such irregular market's trading activities which were bordering, and descending on irrational exuberance. And to serve as a stern , and clear warning to other recalcitrant public listed companies in Bursa.
A4. Vitally important that there were array of securities laws to be enforced, and the regulators have to be seen to be doing their jobs, duties, and responsibilities well, and proactive.
A5.That to prevent any big losses to be incurred by the retail investors which have NO control, influence and power over such irregular market's price moves.

The ball is with the regulators NOW to show that they are doing the right things, and doing things right.

No prejudice meant to any party.Just to ensure the equity market function in the proper, progressive and regulated manner.

@Riazi954 fully agreed with you.And Serba undertook two PPs between the short span of one year.Such PPs devalued the market value for the holdings of existing minority shareholders.Because the price has to be adjusted down with the increase in number of new issued shares.
A2.Who took up the PPs should have been disclosed for transparency and good corporate governance? Who are the parties?
A3. If the company is serious of the greater interests of the minority shareholders they can consider other ways to raise the necessary capital if warranted. And reward the minority.
A4.One can notice once a PP is announced the market will rebel and ensure the price is driven down or falls.
A5.Two times caught in such imbroglios and now totally avoid this stock.

Just to share with no prejudice.
