We're back in familiar territory - growing concern about a new variant of coronavirus.

The latest is the most heavily mutated version discovered so far - and it has such a long list of mutations that it was described by one scientist as "horrific", while another told me it was the worst variant they'd seen.

It is early days and the confirmed cases are still mostly concentrated in one province in South Africa, but there are hints it may have spread further.

Immediately there are questions around how quickly the new variant spreads, its ability to bypass some of the protection given by vaccines and what should be done about it.!?

Police arrested a Japanese man, allegedly a former Yakuza gangster, twice over the past week for rubber glove fraud that reportedly caused damage worth nearly 300 million baht.

Pol Lt Gen Jirabhop Bhuridej, commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, said on Monday that Shuichi Ozawa, 42, was arrested at a hotel in Ploenchit area of Bangkok last Thursday for unauthorised production of medical equipment.

The commissioner said the suspect was a former member of the Yakuza gang named Sumiyoshi in Japan.

"Our production capacity of above 100 billion gloves per annum, the largest among all glove manufacturers globally, also positions us to accommodate large orders from distributors."
Surgical n Cleanroom gloves have higher ASP, roughly US60/1,000; n more sustainable margin.
So overall diversified gloves; the average ASP will be somehow around US40; even though Nitrile glove will normalize to around US30/1,000.
Pre-Covid19 was US 25/1,000.

Gloves are used in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Food Industry, Semiconductor or chips manufacturers inside Cleanroom, n many more like Hotel n Restaurant, Aeronautical, n others, where biodegradable latex glove, are used.
Vinyl glove will phase out sooner or later, because of environment friendly n ESG requirements!
