The first dose of the Pfizer vaccination is 85 percent effective against coronavirus infection between two and four weeks after inoculation, according to a study published in the Lancet medical journal.

The survey was carried out on healthcare workers at the largest hospital in Israel, which on December 19 launched a mass vaccination campaign regarded as the world's fastest.

Israeli studies have found the Pfizer vaccine to be 95 percent effective one week after a second jab, while the Lancet report focused on more than 9,000 medical staff at Sheba hospital near Tel Aviv.

Some 7,000 of them received the first dose and the rest were not inoculated.
From the group, 170 were diagnosed with Covid-19 after tests carried out only on those showing symptoms or who had been in contact with coronavirus carriers.

Fifty-two percent of them were found to have not been vaccinated.

Comparing the two groups, the Sheba study calculated that the vaccine was 47 percent effective between one and 14 days after inoculation, rising to 85 percent after 15 to 28 days.

"What we see is a really high effectiveness already right after two weeks, between two weeks to four weeks after vaccine, already high effectiveness of 85 percent reduction of symptomatic infection," Gili Regev-Yochay, co-author of the study, told a small group of journalists.

Sinovac vaccine works on UK, South African variants - Brazil institute

SERRANA, Brazil (Reuters) - The COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech is effective against the UK and South African variants, the vaccine's Brazilian partner said on Wednesday, citing test results in Chinese trials.

"We have tested this vaccine in China against the English and the South African variants, with good results," said Dimas Covas, head of the Butantan biomedical center in Sao Paulo which lead domestic trials of the Chinese vaccine and is supplying doses to Brazil's Health Ministry.

A new COVID vaccine efficacy study from Israel has concluded that Pfizer/BioNTech's jab is up to 85% effective after the first dose.

The research, conducted by the Sheba Medical Centre, the country's largest hospital, has been published in the Lancet medical journal.

The study found that all infections, including asymptomatic, were reduced by 75% after the first dose.

Professor Eyal Leshem, an infectious disease expert and director of Sheba's Institute for Travel and Tropical Medicine, told Sky News: "This is first real-world evidence of effectiveness that shows up after the first dose of the vaccine

Thus the price u bought at which u thought was low during its peak would become high price to u as the price drops further down when the peak of business performance is over go back to normal.

Most people and the market perceive that glove companies super profit can't sustain in long term, it can only last for two or three years then would be back to normal level, thus most investors and funds not willing chase to buy glove stocks now fear of being trapped can't release as its price might be further down.

U all crazy glove stock lovers here without medical and bio science knowledge don't pretend to be smarter than the scientists and health experts to deny the vaccine effectiveness since the vaccines have gone through a lot of experimental trials and medical approvals from world wide medical authorities. It must have effectiveness only the matter of up to what level its efficacy. Different kinds of vaccine have different level of efficacy. Let to see its effectiveness in second half of this year when many countries gone through vaccination.

Myinvestor @ GroundZero, It's too early to deny the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing covid-19 virus and controlling pandemic because the vaccination just started in some countries even some with first dose only and even some countries like Malaysia not yet start, let time to present its effectiveness in second half or end of this year. According to scientists say it need to take some time for effectiveness after applying two doses.

The health ministry of Israel and England already announced the effectiveness of vaccine in preventing covid-19 virus already seen amongst the old aged people who have done vaccination in their countries that lead to the drop of covid cases in these two countries.
