Even if digital ADEX grows rapidly for the digital side of mainstream media, it can't make up for the traditional ADEX (newspaper, TV, radio, TV show ads) lost. It's much cheaper to place ads on Facebook and Google than pay mainstream media companies.

Biggest problem is ADEX. Most big brands are now going for Google and Facebook ads that are extremely personalised and targeted.

Mainstream media ads are so old school and so 90s like. ROI cannot compare with tech giants. And such precise ads also are so much cheaper than the ineffective ads on mainstream.

Buying power is also shifting from those rich high disposable income, to those young generation that shop like crazy on credit.

So ads are going to where the eyeballs that are more likely to purchase -- which means digital.

And another point is Facebook and Google barely pay tax in Malaysia. Government should do something.
