KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 18): Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd today reported a net profit of RM48.67 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020 (2QFY20), thanks to the recognition of deferred tax assets on tax losses previously not recognised.The group had registered a net loss of RM124.12 million for the immediate preceding quarter (1QFY20), which was impacted by low refining margins following a sudden drop in global oil prices, while demand was impacted by the pandemic outbreak. For 2QFY19, Hengyuan had posted a net profit of RM3.28 million.

.... Lucky got deferred tax asset rm48 mil. Anyway, thing was bad due to MCO periods April-June because less people used cars for travelling. The nxt qtr (3QFY20) should be alot better, hopefully.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tank terminal operator Dialog Group Bhd said earnings climbed in the last quarter ended June 30 to lift its full year (FY20) net profit to RM630mil. Earnings per share for FY20 rose to 11.18 sen a share compared with 9.50 sen a share made a year ago.

KUALA LUMPUR (June 11): India is expected to import an average of 800,000 tonnes of palm oil a month in the third quarter of this year, Indian Vegetable Oil Producers (IVPA) said today.

Speaking in a webinar organised by the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), IVPA president Sudhakar Desai said India’s imports of the commodity averaged 650,000 tonnes a month during the fourth quarter of last year and the first quarter of this year.

During the current third quarter, however, monthly imports fell to 400,000 tonnes in April and May. But it is expected to recover to 650,000 tones in June, said Sudhakar, who is also the CEO of Emami Agrotech Ltd.

TOKYO (June 3): Oil rose on Wednesday to a near three-month high amid optimism that major producers will extend production cuts as the world recovers from the coronavirus pandemic.

Brent crude was up 22 cents, or 0.6%, at $39.79, by 0003 GMT, the highest since March 6, having gained 3.3% on Tuesday.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) gained 33 cents, or 0.9%, at $37.14, also the highest since March 6. The contract ended the previous session up 3.9%.
