If you choose to use the Dividend Reinvestment Application Form , the additional cost is RM10.60 (stamp duty plus postage) to subscribe. Don't worry too much on odd lots, you can always top it up to tradable units in the next DRS offer.

DRS is optional to Shareholders. You hve the right to subscribe to full allocation or partial or you can ignore the Dividend Reinvestment Form . The divd due you (net or otherwise) will be credited to your bank a/c on the payment date of the dividend.

Hi activetrader - apple to apple. Buying in CIMB u can get two of Affin. Net asset backing Affin is much better than CIMB. If all the Armed Forces personnel maintain an account ,this will keep the Bank going. What abt Boustead Holdings and anak anak and T/Haji support. Divd wise historical RM0.15. Can buy or not?

Just to add on: Divd - Announcement on Nov, payment in Dec. for FYE. Past records FYE 2012 to 2014 the divd rate was 15 sen. At today buy in price of RM2.30 , the rate of return is 6.52%, on assumption the Bank retained the divd rate of 15 sen for 2015 ( highly possible)

kakashi, I agree with u- cut loss (take position) works both ways – to cut further loss on profit or take the loss. I am also for averaging down because statistical u will be a winner in the longer run. Maybe Vin has deep pocket to continue to average down – but what’s wrong incorporating the cut loss/ re-positioning concept. Investing is all about hope and the future – why not work this way – working with an example limit all yr favorite blue chips each @ RM50K investment but buy in tranches. On assumption u hit the wall and you need to average down - Do it by all means but stop new money when it reached a little above or below RM50K. If the mkt is still at the down trend, continue to average down using cut loss approach ie sell and then buy next low with your holdings only (no new money). BTW there is no fixed rules to play the market, just expand your options. I am on online trading, playing cash upfront meaning for today sell, proceeds considered today. Buy at T+3

@kakashi cut loss does not mean u hve to get out of yr favorite blue chip. Work on the assumption, u bought CIMB @ RM5.00 last Friday, cut loss today @ RM4.60 and buy back tomorrow @ RM4.40. This works better than averaging down if yr guts feeling telling u the mkt is not going to be good tomorrow.

CIMB is one of the Msia GLC icon. Khazanah Nasional Berhad will never allow it to fail. If you believe Trading price can move to RM6.50 in 1-2 years(or earlier) and track record of paying yearly divd , don't see why not- to hold at today's price of RM5 to " sit it out"

In the Corporate exercise it started off with voluntary, call it MSS or VSS - if the response is not as expected then it becomes compulsory. "Dead wood" is not necessary all at the low end job level - if the Co. is top heavy, MSS/VSS is a polite way to tell you to go or get kicked. CIMB is doing the right thing.

AGM is the only time where shareholders get the chance of Board-Shareholder Engagement. I have attended a few AGM and noticed those attending AGM ( majority) were docile individual, and most of the time the issued raised was over door gift/coffee. Real concern was not discussed, the board members always dictate. The right way to go is to form a shareholder activist grp and give them (board members) a tough time. Those jokers must earn their director fees. Follow the Japanese style AGM where shareholders give them (Board Members) hell.

U said rent seeking organization, what is not possible, the team included. Look at MAS, MISC etc if the biz involved international play, the company cannot afford to hve complacent individual at the helm. Global agribiz and world supplier of Crude palm oil , u need a lot of thinking people esp when it involved spot trade, forward contracts etc. So, lets not zero all our energy blaming on crude palm oil pricing and everything is okay when the price moved up.

Post restructuring, yes dividend. Company restructured in 2008, shitty deal- bonus, capital reduction and then re-consolidation. FY 2009 last dividend paid 1.78 sen. Since then bad biz for a couple of years and we accepted the no dividend deal. But now sufficient cash (asset sales/Biz profit) and back on track and for the past two years, still saying the Company need to preserve cash for new biz. My number still stand @10% dividend or 2 sen the impact on the cash position is only RM7.2 million. My guess they hold back to support the S'pore division.

A great company with fair dividend those days. Don't worry abt going under - firstly if they sell all the ships/tug boats they can pay u back at today's price. Secondly the major shareholders (conglomerate) , Maybulk is the support service to ship/move their products. Freight revenue is at cut throat price in today's crowded market and perhaps when more small players close shops there will be turn around. The big boys will always be around. BTW goods still need to be shipped - bulk services will be around.

Kian Leong Lim, I agree with yr thought. u shld attend the AGM (unfortunately in Kuching) to share the general feelings of the shareholders , their responsibility as Directors is more than just paying a regular dividend to the shareholders. SWKPlnt has lot of local influence and they shld act on this opportunity. Can see there is potential and perhaps I may hold on for a few qtr reportings before I make the next move.

Cocoaland started off in Dec 2004 @RM0.65 a piece. Pay regular dividend and rewarded the shareholders with 1:3 bonus. Today TP is around RM1.80-RM1.90. Fair comparison.

HI those who hve invested earlier I am happy for u. The proposed divd is RM0.33 and u can choose to opt for the DRIP at a discounted price to be announced. This may sound trivial but just in case some u happily think u got a deal, pls consider RM10.65 as additional costs to the subs. (Revenue Stamp RM10 +postage RM0.60). If your subscription units are 100, the additional cost is RM0.1065 meaning if the offer price is RM9, the actual cost of the 100 is RM9.1065/unit.

Kian Leong Lim hi According to the Company Profile (based on the Annual Rept) Company started in 1997 and public company in 2000. Went Public listing in Aug 2007 and the IPO price was RM3.00 per share. Counting the years it is still a very young company. Agreed, the Shares are tightly held and the Mgmt maybe a little conservative but we cannot deny it is a well-managed and paying regular dividend Company. Let’s visit FGV, a well-diversified/ all downstream line of products Company and Sime Darby, a Malaysia-based diversified multinational involved in key growth sectors, they are not “Super Stars” in Bursa Malaysia.

As for me, it is still too early to write it (S/Plnt) off.

GoodCompanies Hi tks for the “in conversation”. I hve a fren playing quite a similar approach like yrs. but more daring. He is a believer of what goes down will move up. He depended heavy on chartnexus for his selection for the most drastic drop in prices stocks and put a buying list. Check in at the end of the day – those done he will be put a sell with a markup margin for a month on the next day. I called him playing poker without looking at his cards. Anyway he is still trading in the market and I wld assume he is making money. There is no right or wrong rules to beat the market, importantly you are comfortable with it and in the reporting period you make money

Hi GoodCompanies - I revisited your nos. Correct me if I am - 1st tranche @RM10 and markup 20% you sell it @RM12. 2nd tranche you get at RM5 and will sell at RM6. So, if TB hits RM6 you make a sell for that 2nd tranche. Think abt the allocation method I talked abt. - stay at 5 Buys, buy when down at yr agreed discounted rate and sell when TB hits yr agreed margin - you still sell by tranche. My earlier msg on 16/2

GoodCompanies Hi tks for sharing. Can u share more details in yr tranche play with work out examples? Didn’t get the full picture.

What is the difference between allocating RM50k to CIMB to buy over 5times (5 Buy @RM10k each) and each buy @ 10% discount to the average cost (holding cost of the number of buy done). If you maintain capital gain @10% , anytime any one of that BUY you done hit the margin, make a sell.
The drawback is after 5 buys you still don't make the 10% margin on any of the five buys, you have to sit it out. Statistically this is quite impossible to hve that shitty luck
