Hello ladies and gentlemen, as per my previous post, I had promised to search for more information regarding the company’s credential / track record in relation to healthcare.

But before we dive into it, here’s a quick recap from my previous post.

HWGB collaborate with a US company called E-MO Biology
HWGB give money to E-MO Biology to do their research for covid-19 vaccine prevention using Polio vaccine
Polio vaccine MAY work. It is yet to be proven. 50/50
Basically, after going through the company’s annual report and previous news coverage about the company, I understand why some investors here are labeling them as a fraud. The company had moved from one business to another while making losses for the past 10 years! And now, they are trying to do healthcare??

So, the question is, can HWGB pull this off by tapping into healthcare? And who are these guys partnering? E-MO Biology? Do they have the capabilities? Who is Qiyi Xie?

Did abit of searching on the E-MO Biology and as it turns out…



NOTHING. KOSONG. ERROR 404 NOT FOUND.



No info about this company. Only incorporated in May 2020. lol???? Interestingly suspicious.



But … I did found the company’s CEO profile; Qiyi Xie which is the only info that appears on Google Search.



Based on their reply to Bursa’s query, (https://disclosure.bursamalaysia.com/FileAccess/apbursaweb/download?id=105786&name=EA_GA_ATTACHMENTS), and other online search, this dude’s profile seems macam boleh. I even found his linkedin profile (based on his academic profile - https://www.linkedin.com/in/qiyi-chee-e-xie-shieh-3124bb13/)



Well, the good news is at least we know that this Qiyi Xie is a real life dude and not just some made up person.



In fact, surprisingly, his name pops up quite frequently inside a FDA page for another company called ACON Laboratories Inc. (https://fda.report/Company/Qiyi-Xie). Then again, this page mentioned that they are not associated with FDA so I am uncertain about the website’s credibility. And here is another site showing its research publications (Again, unsure of its credibility - https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Qiyi_Xie)



In conclusion, is hard to validate their JV partner as information is scarce. Personally, I think they must achieve their next milestone which is getting the FDA approval to begin the trial. Otherwise, all these would be just talking and meaningless.



And before I end, interestingly the company had made several announcements as of late in regards to their healthcare venture. Perhaps we can talk more about that in the next piece. Till then.

Ho Wah Genting Berhad – Day Dreaming or Jackpot??

By now, most of you here would probably know that the company is collaborating with a US company to produce a vaccine for this ongoing pandemic.

What really intrigued me was the company is only funding US$1 million for this vaccine research. Got so cheap or not??

Generally, you and I are no medical professional and know nuts about medical treatment. Nonetheless, personally, I am a curious investor and the only source of info is via online reading materials. And hence, I did abit of my findings. (Thanks to @pBlue for also sharing a site for me to refer)


So the first question is: Can this poliovaccine really work against covid treatment?
In short, no proven studies yet, but scientists believe it is plausible. Here are their rationales.
1) Both poliovirus and coronavirus are positive-strand RNA viruses; therefore, it is likely that they may induce and be affected by common innate immunity mechanisms
2) By using Poliovaccine, it would enable one to trigger an immune response to develop antibodies specific to the pathogen, such as the previous virus, SARS-Cov 2. However, they believe is just a temporary immune boost. So the keyword is Temporary. Imagine if we can walk freely for a year without the fear of transmission, ok ma isn’t?
3) Safety. Using existing vaccines is safer due to track record of safety


The next question would be: If poliovaccine is effective, why do people still getting covid 19?
To be honest, I can’t find any studies or news but my suspicion was, what if the poliovaccine has a protection period? The only info I found was from a UK healthcare called “Superdrug Health Clinic”. According to them, the vaccine only lasts for 10 years and one should get another after 10 years. I am uncertain about this fact as “Booster” and “Vaccine” may have different usage. However, hypothetically, if one requires another jab after 10 years, that explains why children are less prone as compared to the elderly in regards to contracting the covid 19 virus.


That being said, it is worth noting that this poliovaccine is not the panacea for all of us. It is far too early to conclude as more clinical trials should be done.

But if the company or its US counterpart DID manage to pass its clinical trial or getting FDA approval, it would definitely be good news to all, especially the investors.

Just to share, in the event if MCO really ends, I believe it is time to start collecting some shares. Why?
1) Company's balance sheet remains solid as a rock with no borrowings and huge cash pile. No surprise if they even acquire one of their competitors
2) When market sentiment recovers, potential capital gain + dividend avg at 7% - 8% for the coming years
3) And lastly, during MCO, couples stay at home, what can they do?

Apparently, the website is incomplete. But based on the website and its content, it seems they are planning to do a blog where you can book and plan your travel in it.
But the question is, why would people join and write with them? And how does this benefit Parlo in return?
