And the long queue of 18-wheeler lorries ferrying raw materials to the factories have caused serious traffic jam to the local community, a good sign for Hevea shareholders but certainly an unwelcome one for those affected by the traffic woes

From information I received from the logistic and transport contract operators, both the NS and Gemas factories were running on 2 shifts including weekends!

With the strong USD and robust Japanese demand, HEVEA's biggest market, I am expecting a very strong Q2 result come this month end when the announcement is out.

As such, the 4.3 sen EPS will not happen now but over a period of 30 months, barring any non-payment or delay by Qingdao Beacon Breweries Ltd

So you see Pohuat will only credit the whole $4.65m as a reversal in its accounting only upon receiving the settlement amount.

The board of Pohuat is cautious in making a provision by stating in the announcement that :

As a result of the Settlement and the anticipated receipt of the settlement amount of RMB9.00 million (equivalent to approximately RM4.65 million) over the settlement period, the Company shall make a part reversal of the allowance for impairment losses on other receivables upon receiving the settlement amount.

I do not agree with yeapchinpoh that the EPS will increase by 4.3 sen, although it looks the way it is as there is still uncertainty whether this RM 4.65m can be fully recovered in 30 months time (and knowing how unruly the mainland Chinese are, I am doubtful...)

If Pohuat can collect back the RM 4.65m in 30 months time, Pohuat will still sustain a loss of RM 2.1m in their investment in China. We have to make sure that Qingdao Beacon Breweries Ltd keeps up with their repayment instalments, otherwise Pohuat may have to go back to the court to seek redress again

When Pohuat disposed their stake in Pohuat Qingdao in 2013, Pohuat has to booked an impairment loss of RM 6.75m in its balance sheet.

However this $4.65m is to be paid over a duration of 30 months from June 2014

Pohuat will receive a total of RM 4.65m as full settlement of the litigation against Qingdao Beacon Breweries Ltd which Pohuat sold them their equities stake in Pohuat Qingdao in 2013
