PETALING JAYA (Aug 3): The global demand for rubber gloves is expected to return to growth in 2023, after a 19% contraction to an estimated 399 billion pieces this year, from 492 billion in 2021 when the world was at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) expects glove demand to expand in the range of 12%-15% next year. Meanwhile, the association has cut its demand forecast for this year by 12% to 399 billion pieces, from 452 billion pieces previously, as the demand normalises against the backdrop that the Covid-19 pandemic is under control.


MARGMA’s President Dr Supramaniam Shanmugam, however, stressed that the association’s forecast “is a very conservative estimate”, given the various growth drivers, for instance rising hygiene awareness, ageing population and recovery in non-Covid-19 related demand.

Another important aspect of being a successful investor is make sure you are born in the right country.Hahaha.

I just cite an example to illustrate the benefits of long term investment on good companies with growth potential. Take McDonalds as a classic case. Supermx had the lowest production capacity of the big 4.Any impairment if at all,will also be minimal.

Supermx has the highest reserves of Rm 2 bil plus of the big 4,meaning stanley is smart n did not go into unnecessary n marginal expansion,thus the probability of impairment is very small.Now this huge pile of cash will come in very handily.

whatever impairment,it is the past n one off...but the resumption of usa sales is the future n here to stay

A bonus,usa sales resumed in early nov.Next Qr will factor in another 20% of sales.So if current Qr is good,next Qr will be better...if current qr is not too good,next qr will still be better.

It is reasonable to expect supermx to range between 1.0 n 1.1 next week.

Of late,glove cos have demonstrated stability in prices unseen for 2 yrs.Harta is up 67% frm low of 1.41.Kossan is up 55% from low of 1.02.Both are stabilizing at a higher level as of now.If this is not the best tell tale sign i dunno what is.Supermx's low was 71 sen,if it can rise 55% like kossan it shud be 1.11.This year's high was 1.07.All we need is a good QR.

Topglove wasted billions to support share prices when it was very high,some even supported at RM8.Its taiko position is not to be anymore.If kossan can maintain its performance,it will become the leader of the gloves sector.Both kossan n harta still have RM 1 billion plus in cash.

Right,you got it.The huge volume accompanying the rebound.First target 0.5 by fri.If tech sector worldwide continue rebound given that rates have peaked,the rebound will turn nicely into an uptrend.
