KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): Supermax Corp Bhd has said it is donating RM75 million to the government's Covid-19 fund to help the country combat the coronavirus.
The glove maker confirmed this when contacted by The Edge, following Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz's announcement in his Budget 2021 speech today that four glove companies had expressed their commitment to contributing RM400 million to combat Covid-19.
The money will cover part of the cost of vaccines and health equipment expenses, the minister said.
Besides Supermax, the other three companies are Top Glove Corp Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, and Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd.
Earlier, Top Glove said it will be giving RM185 million to the government as part of its contribution to fight Covid-19.

sorhai one off 100m is acceptable, imagine if 10% windfall tax later Supermax make 6b profit 600m gone already.
some more 100m will buy a good relationship with government, later build factory take approval, consent also faster nobody dare to minta duit kopi.
most importantly, with this 100m donation it can make pirate jib shut up and no way to play issue perkauman.

美国卫生与公共服务部原本是制定了一个计划，打算储备45亿双手套，可以提供给医护人员使用，大约可以使用90天，但是到本周美国目前储备的手套仅仅只有200万双左右。
根据美国卫生部门的相关，估计美国目前对这一手套的需求大约是每个月87一双，也就是说美国目前所剩的手套还不足以使用一个月。可以看出美国如今丁腈手套的缺口十分大。美国国务院的发言人也表示美国目前一直在跟马来西亚沟通，争取获得更多的手套，而且也在推动国内生产丁腈手套。
