As for the Dow, the fall on Friday came on the news of better jobs data, which as they put it, raises rate fears. I think it is completely not in the interest of the US to raise interest rates at this stage. Interest rates hiking should be further delayed or nominally raised to position the US economy vis-a-vis inflation. It would be exuberant to think that the US economy is steaming ahead though it is slowly getting better apparently.

I like this deal because it would not be as huge as the three party merger. When a Malaysian company gets too big, it gets stuffed all over the place. That's real pressure.

I offer an alternative perspective. The valuation of Mbsb of the aborted merger was based on different dynamics and parameters for different needs and under different conditions. The valuation could be different with BIMB. WIth this in mind, the impending merger could be more enterprising and interesting.

The news going around this stock is good if anything to go by. Stay.

Careful, kakashii, insider trading. Neway, mbsb is giving final div. not interim and also it is not a bank though it lends out money. Its growth potential lies in its pursuit of being a commercial bank as one of its objectives.

Slrs should exercise restrain. Mbsb has just come off from an aborted merger plan. Its px came off subsequent to that. It's natural. However, you don't want to sell a stock that has made some good money ( going by what data is available), declared a 10+2 dividend which gives a very good 5.45% DY, offered a DRP ( indicating prospective better pxs for the stock) plus technically a better picture than a couple of weeks ago as well as a very positive assessment by its CEO (theEdge). If at all this stock takes some time to take off it is because the AGM has first to be held. Meanwhile the support at today's level of about 2.20 is encouraging. Should the px break 2.20, frankly one would not know where is the level to buy as the support would shift. There are many 'big' boys out there. 'Big' boy A would not know about big boy B or C or D etc2. So don't worry, stick to your purchase cos' this is as good a stock as they come.

Therefore the expectation is for the stock to rise.

DRP is just a scheme by the company. This is because it has confidence in itself for the future. However, if the stock price is downtrending, then who wants the stock?

Similar to rights. MBSB has to move UP for the DRP to succeed.

If you consider the situation of Scientex as similar, then you could expect the bigger company to go higher in prices. In the case of Scientex, after purchasing GWall, it went from about 2.50 to its current price of 7.50, all in less than 9 months and analysts are expecting higher. Of course, Scientex and Skpres are different but Skpres-Tec merger bears similarity in terms of synergy , efficiency, integration etc2

Some politicians deceive themselves and/or the public by making it appear that saving that amount of money is virtuous by the Govt. It is not. The role of Govt. is not the same as that of a family saving some for a rainy day. To hoard that kind of money and then capitalize on it to appear as if it is the right thing to do amounts to cheating the public. It is pure ineptness and nonsensical.

Taxation is not the answer to budget deficits. Budget deficits are desirable to a certain extent but becomes unsustainable from overspending. Ultimately, the people has to bear the brunt for things gone wrong. Therefore, it is right to go against a Govt. that has overspent. In the case of Khalid Ibrahim, he was not able to spend for the people and thus why should the people pay? What on earth was he doing with the $3 billion? I pay taxes and other Govt. dues. I want to live better,in better surroundings, in a nice country; not to watch Khalid Ibrahim pile up a meaningless hoard of money. He just failed in his duty in Govt.

Spend. Brighten up and beautify the State. Mahathir: Govt. is about spending - is absolutely right.
Petaling Jaya has been dangerous for pedestrians in the last few years. Street lighting has been poor. I can say, many areas are 'lighted' because of the shops around and of course this is insufficient. David, I've on 1st Sept given my thots on putting stops. For Mpay, the stops still hold and until something significant comes around, I am afraid there will be pressure. The picture will change overtime for even better or for worse, but come around later and see what the people here say.

Persistent buying suggests attempts at breaching a resistance - the inverse neckline. It might even have already succeeded, but I would think that 95cts would confirm success with the uptrend further continuing earnestly. I would certainly then say crossing 1.00 is easy. The selling seems less earnest than buying as a matter of comparison this period of time.
