I heard that they are hoping that that contract will be extended but real truth is that the rig contract will be extended for 1+1 well only and that translates to 120 days only, so it means, maximum effective continuation is only up to May next year. How to pay the bank if you take borrowing? no bank will give the money. Qtr result pun not that impressive.

bullram; I don't know much about the terms used in the analysis but I do know that without contracts in hand the company cannot achieve profitability and thus leading to the target price or whatever set price. I know TO has no new contracts in hand except all the planning that they wish to have. Her wish list so to speak! purchase of 49% in subsidiary company was over-priced. edmundleekoklam: to answer your question on 'why they buy asset if they are unable to cling to some major contract' looks like they lost direction. the new management always think big and by buying the asset they think they can easily go to PETRONAS and secure contracts. my friend -
with PETRONAS it is not that easy because they award contracts based on their requirement not because of some big names.

hot.t it depends on the number of wells i.e. exploration, appraisal or development wells. if exploration 6-12 months but if development it is much longer. But the rig they are buying is not meant for development but more towards explo. I agree the interest is going to kill them but if they line up the contracts then it is possible.

not two rigs but one only, now change already. without any contract in hand, who wants to give loan to tgoff? buying a rig is not a problem but to maintain the rig without jobs is a major problem. ini semua cakap saja ma. it does not matter whether you are a Tan Sri or not if there is no candidate field, PETRONAS will not award any contract.
